I thought it was good, I felt entertained throughout. Not as funny as Ghost Protocol but there was enough laughs in there. Renner's character is unfortunately primarily at the CIA HQ with very little to do, but this is Ethan Hunt's show, so I'm okay with that.

The action was good, maybe a little rehashed, but between car/motorcycle chases, underwater scenes, highwire acts and that insane aircraft opening scene I could not have asked for much more.

The story itself is fairly generic - and it's not curing any cancer that's for sure - but that seems to be a recurring thing in the Mission:Impossible movie.

Anyway, definitely worth the price of admission.

I also enjoyed it, but not as much as Ghost Protocol. I liked the early surprise of The Syndicate, (the 'should you accept the mission...' tradition) the clever way of covering up a plot hole (why doesn't Lane kill Faust? Because Atlee is using her to infiltrate the Syndicate and Lane knows it but Lane uses her indirectly to manipulate Atlee and Ethan Hunt) and Alec Baldwin was great casting - a "good" antagonist. although the film's final scene made me wonder if Hunley really wanted Hunt dead in the first place.

However,  one plot point made me yawn. One of the big pluses of the previous film was that the IMF was shut down and the team was the only active team by cicumstance. No sooner does the IMF come back they shut down again. Also, like the first film, Hunt is on the lam from the CIA.

The action scenes, while good, were throwbacks to previous installments. The break in at the power station in specific had me cringe. (and Hunt having loads of stamina to boot!). I didn't hate the film, but think it was a step down from Protocol.
