So - there was never a chance I was going to watch this. With minor exceptions, I do not like Rap music (I am a child of the 60s so I reserve the right to cling to the past). I abhor Gangsta Rap because I find it hateful and it perpetuates stereotypes.

But........ it was on for free so - WTF - I'll give it five minutes.

I thought it was great. Solid acting, great job in creating time and place - a complete movie. So many musical bio pics are poorly done. This was really an exception. So says the 60-year-old suburban white guy.

I enjoyed it too. I like rap when it's done well. It's very easy to concentrate on the profanity and confuse the lyrics. A lot of the early stuff was about hating the white man and how easy white women are to bed, but the music has moved on now to be more about class than race and sex. Because that is the real divide... and it always has been. Racism is just a smoke screen.
