Someone asked me to write a script for a VR film. Before I even say yes or no, I feel I need to know what it is and how it differs from a regular script. Anyone know?  

VR stands for virtual reality. Beyond that, I have no idea how to write a VR script. Perhaps I've been less than helpful. :-/

Vritual reality.

There are 2 kinds of vr films.

1. Traditional. ..it's just like watching a cinema sized screen on your headset...so pretty epic.

2. 360 degree vision.. as you turn you can see different things. This one would allow you to put things in front, to the side and behind the viewer so could have a different way of writing. You'd need to fashion your story to be immersive in that environment.

I'd love to get involved in vr filmmaking. Anyone got some ideas hit me up.

Pia - what everyone else says is true, and my understanding is that it's more like a video game narrative as you'll need to describe more than usual to create the environment.

I actually do know what VR means. :P  I just had no idea what a script for something like that would be like. The guy said he has an awesome 360 camera, so I would think he's looking for Rick's second type of film.

I think I'm going to sit this one out. I'm not a gamer, so I'm not really familiar with VR stuff to begin with and then I'm thinking I'm not really that interested in learning this either, even though I know it's a growing thing.
