“I Could’ve Been Saved”
by Tyler King

Every day I wake up, I put on a fake smile
Then I lie to myself and say I’m worthwhile
You throw sticks and stones, and you break every bone
You damage my heart until I feel alone
I forgot how to laugh because all I do now is cry
I pray to God every night, “just please let me die”

Keeping me low gives you the ultimate high
You hurt me so much and I ask myself why?
Does it make you feel better? Does it make you feel good?
You say you’re not a bully, you’re just misunderstood
One day you might leave those horrible words left unsaid
But it may be too late when that day comes and I’m dead

I loved my life until you came along
You made me weak when I used to be strong
You caused me so much pain with your barbaric behavior
But it felt so much better with the cut of that razor
I held my breath and prayed to God I’d succeed
I slit my wrists open and watched myself bleed

I see you now with that look in your eyes
Why are you acting like you’re so surprised?
Why don’t you quit asking God for forgiveness?
He knows you’re guilty and He knows you caused this
You’re telling me you’re sorry as you stand at my grave
But if you would’ve stopped sooner, I could’ve been saved
