So I just binge watched the shit out of all 3 seasons and I have to say I think this was a masterpiece, not to mention one of the best soundtracks and scores I think I've ever heard.

Anyone else watched this? Love to know your thoughts.

What is it about?

Like Left Behind only less 'preachy'.

Actually, I have this in queue to binge.

Clearly, I don't watch enough TV, because I have no idea what either one is about.  ;D

I watched the first two seasons and E1 of the third. Mixed feelings, but ultimately I'd have to lean towards the negative since I haven't been compelled to finish the series. To be fair, I haven't revisited the previous seasons since I finished the second on TV, so I can't speak to all of my issues with the clarity I'd like.

I can say for a certainty that my primary issue has always been the characters. For me personally, some of the most detestable I've seen in a while. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue for me, since I don't necessarily expect characters to be likable, but many of the characters I hate on the show are presumably meant to come off as human and relatable. Since the themes of the show generally reveal themselves through these characters, I can only assume I'm simply not on board with the vision of the creators. On the other hand, Theroux's character is one of the few who come off as sympathetic almost precisely because he's constantly shit on by other characters who nevertheless always seem to need something from him and try to shoehorn themselves into his life... so I don't know.

I also wasn't a fan of the soundtrack. Some of the song choices were fine, even on point, but others were just downright bizarre. More than that, the earlier episodes had an awful habit of replaying songs over and over and over and over and over again (within the same episodes), so any given time the show happened to strike the right chord, they would sabotage it through sheer repetition.

At the same time, I watched two whole seasons. A friend of mine actually put in a decent amount of work getting me to stay the course. Obviously, there's some stuff to like about it. Definitely not fresh in the memory, though. Not sure I have the interest to revisit.

Season 1 was amazing, season 2 was pretty good, and season 3 was a huge disappointment.

While I wasn't expecting any answers by the end of season 3, the finale doesn't pay off. The writers do something really interesting at the beginning of the season and completely abandon the premise (and decide to focus on relationships instead...blech).

Even though I liked the soundtrack, as James mentioned, it's overused.

Overall it's a good series with a ton of questions (and few answers). It's Lindelof's best work, but that's not saying much.

Damon Lindelof is one of those guys that asks awesome questions in his writings, from Lost to Prometheus to The Leftovers...luckily with the latter, he actually answered most of what was asked, and ended the damn thing definitively.

I love The Leftovers, love it! Fantastic TV at it's finest.

Finished season 3 last night and have to say the last two episodes where a bit of a disappointment. I won't go into spoilers but it was a better ending than Lost, yet still had that kinda made up at the last minute vibe rather than a long term plan they've been aiming at for a while.

Season 3 is certainly the weakest season but it still had some amazing episodes and some incredible (and long) monologues. If you want to see how a lot of dialogue CAN work (especially if being delivered by veteran actors) I suggest checking this out.

Fantastic show - though i thought season 1 was tough to get through... especially the 3-5 episodes following the pilot.

Season 2 and 3 were great.

I do think a lot of people missed the boat on the ending.
