Has anyone seen Valerian yet? And can someone explain/ clarify how a $180M movie be classified as an Indie? What am I missing here?

EuropaCorp is an independent French studio, so it's an indie!

It was typical of Besson's more recent work: dumb as heck but with more than enough imagination and flair to keep everything moving. Terrible acting from the main two and plenty of half-assed writing, but a super fun over-produced B movie all the same. It was no Fifth Element, but it was weird and wild, which is more than most Hollywood franchises can say.

Outstanding opening with Space Oddity playing, terrific set up of the alien race. Anbd then...the talented but pissing his career away Dane DeHann and the always annoying Cara Delevingne open their mouths.  Small rebound with the mission" but there is no tears shed for any of the "team" lost in the process. City of 10000 planets looks cool and interesting.

I smiled when I saw Clive Owen. I frowned when his character was stereotypical and cliche. All thats missing is a twirling mustache. Owen got a nice paycheck I'm sure.

Small rebound with inventive FX and a bit of exploring. Cara Delevingne has to speak again.
Dont touch the glowing butterflies. Leads to stupid, time wasting side story because Rihanna is in the cast. Any talented actress could play the part. Any talented actress would know better and refuse to partake in this mess. Rihannais a talented singer. She is not a talented actress. Not even talented as an alien stripper.

Cara Delevingnes brains are nearly eaten . Lemon juice or no lemon juice, not much of a meal there.
