SimplyScripts Screenwriting Discussion Board  /  Writing Opportunities and Call for Scripts  /  Back again  - Call For Scripts

Hello all,

I'm putting out another call for scripts. Last time I read some great work and in the end we produced Elzabeth H Vu's "Level One" which is currently nearing the end of post production.

With that in mind I realised that none of my Films could be watched by my children so I'm looking to hopefully find two scripts - the first a family friendly movie and  secondly a micro budget horror feature - I feel the time is right to leave the confines of shorts behind and make a feature.

I do have one major request, that the horror be more character driven psychological horror rather than a slasher gore fest.

Beyond that I'm looking forward to hopefully reading some more of the great work I've found here.

You can get me by PM here or email me at oisinmaccoille@hotmail.com

*EDIT* Proabably should have mentioned this in oringinal post. I'm based in Ireland and feel that the film should be able to be set in Ireland with as few tweaks as possible.
Best

Oisin, what is your budget range for a feature?

I'd like to read stuff in the 100,000 or less ... I know it seems ridiculous but this will be mostly self funded and therefopre budget obvioulsy needs to be kept low

Heartbeat
Micro budget
87 pages

LOGLINE:  With her parents out of town for the night, popular high school student Abra Needham is home alone while police search her quiet neighborhood for two escaped killers.

SYNOPSIS:   Abra Needham returns home from school to discover a police helicopter carefully circling her housing development.  As she makes it home safely and checks the local news, reports of a cruel school prank and the escape of two masked killers send Abra into an instant panic.   As day gives way to night, a series of strange disturbances convince Abra that the killers are near and have chosen her as their next victim.  Things take a turn for the worse when Abra unknowingly stabs and kills a fellow student and friend while hiding in her parents bedroom closet.  What was meant as a harmless prank turns tragic as detectives Hughes and Dobbs investigate in the wake of the young man's death.   Meanwhile, Abra and her best friend Amy become enveloped in a desperate cover-up which will not only test the limits of their lifelong friendship but the trust of their parents.

HEARTBEAT is a mostly single location, super micro budget thriller with a strong female protagonist.
