Hey guys,

I know there is a specific template for a screenwriting resume, but I would imagine that most of us aren’t paying the bills full time through the craft (yet).

I was wondering if you guys include your screenwriting accomplishments on your resumes and how you format it? I’ve been trapped in the copywriting world for the past few years, but have been lucky enough to have a feature screenplay produced.

Considering that is one my proudest career accomplishments, I want to boast about it — just not quite sure how. Anyone else incorporate their screenwriting achievements into their resumes?

I'm retired, so probably not the best to respond (although I did hire a ton if people).

Anyway, if it is for a non writing job, I would include it under hobbies and interests. e.g.,

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

I enjoy screenwriting and have had one of my scripts produced (Kev's Movie 20xx).

I wonder if it would go under HONORS AND AWARDS instead? It is an honor to have a script produced, after all ;D but really, maybe something like:

Sure, I guess. Not to get too much into the weeds, but as an employer, I wanted to see Honors and Awards that were at least tangentially connected to the job or spoke to values and character. e.g., if I were hiring and administrator, then knowing that written communications is on of the skill sets I would find a writing achievement relevant. If I were hiring an electrician - not so much.

Anything goes in hobbies and interests.

It can also be quite tragic.
