I have a half-technical, half-marketing question about short scripts.

After fixing up my first-round entry to the Writer's Tournament, a vision materialized for two more stories in that setting that form a coherent trilogy.

The first two stories worked out to six pages each, and this gives me a strong bias toward writing the third story in six pages as well.

For the purposes of getting feedback here, but more importantly making the arc accessible to potential producers, would it be better to post

- Three distinct 6-page-scripts that introduce the recurring characters each time, or

- A single 18-page script with time jumps in it?

Artistically I'd lean toward the first option because they are three discrete episodes in that world's history, but how does one even indicate the presence of the other episodes to a producer who found one of the scripts in a keyword search?

I'm open to feedback on this when the actual scripts appear on SS, but right now as written the story requires some simple VFX that would put it out of the reach a single student filmmaker.

I'd do both, never close a door.

Depending on how you promote it, link everything.

I'd do it as a single, at least for purposes of getting reviewed here. Your threads will all get different attention and I'm not sure the readers will make the connections.

Thanks for the advice, both of you.

At least for initial feedback on SS, I’m going to roll all three into a single document. I found a feature in FinalDraft that will let me put the “episode” name at the top of the page, so it will actually be three distinct screenplays, and characters are introduced as if each screenplay was a stand-alone file.

The only drawback is that I can’t submit anything until i’ve written the third story.

Will ask in the unpublished thread if folks think it’d work better as a single story.

Edit: Okay the whole thing is now in the unpublished area under Timmy.
