The original Sicario movie is a fave of mine, as it's everything I like about movies - cold hearted, violent, and pull no punches.

When I heard about this sequel (and that the actual plan is for 3 movies), I was thrilled, and knew I had to see this one in the theater (as I saw the 1st one at home).

So, we have a new Director here, Stefano Sollima, who I've never heard of, but returning is writer, Taylor Sherdian, who is quickly becoming 1 of my favorite writers (and don't sleep on his new Paramount TV series, Yellowstone, which is quite excellent).

Brolin and Del Toro are both back and both excellent once again, but we lose Emily Blunt, and that's not a big deal, IMO.

This is a story and plot that takes many twists and turns and is something you'll probably never see again.  For me, it completely worked and I never knew what was coming next.

The violence is full on and done amazingly well, with gunshot wounds, killings, etc. that should go down with the best you've ever seen.

But what makes this so damn good is the human characteristics and characters themselves.  I felt for them all in different ways, even the somewhat over the top characters played by Mathew Modine and Katherine Keener (and I only say over the top because both of these characters bordered on being the kind of character you sometimes roll your eyes to).

So many memorable scenes on display here. Seriously...it's this quality of a movie that makes replay value extremely high, and after a single viewing, I can still see some of these scenes in my head.

Highly recommended for those who enjoy this sort of movie and can handle extremely high levels of violence.

Grade - A+

I've been wanting to check it out but was still on the fence about it. You've convinced me, I'll have to watch it before it leaves theaters.

I enjoyed the first one.  I’ve heard only good feedback.  Can’t wait to see it.
