So this is my favourite thing at the moment.

It’s a new animated (for adults) series on Netflix. I was hooked after the first episode and binged the entire season in one sitting. Once finished I started again and finished it for the second time in least than a week last night. IMO it’s that good. It’s been renewed for a second season.

Very dumbed-down premise is a space prisoner befriends a world killing alien and tries to keep him safe from a bad guy called the Lord Commander who wants him for his own sinister plan.

What makes this show so good, everything.

Hilariously funny, with a great cast. Some notable names in David Tennant, Steven Yeun, and Ron Pearlman to list a few.

It has some really heart-wrenching moments with a stellar soundtrack to back it all up.

It also leaves you with one hell of a cliff hanger.

I can’t wait for the next season and can see myself going through the first one several more times before it comes out.

I know this won’t be for everyone, but I can’t really fault it.

Consider yourself lucky. I just checked Netflix and we don't get it in the US. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Well that’s surprising. Usually it’s us that don’t have as big a selection as the States.

Maybe the US military isn't comfortable with a show so similar to one of its secret projects ;)

Started watching it on your recommendation.

It's a lot of fun. Very fast moving and although it feels like it steals from a lot of well known IPs it never feels stale.

Nice, safe, entertainment.

Forgot to say thanks for the recommend on this. Nothing could have stopped me from watching it straight through. It's weird, fast-paced, and hilarious. The main character really does have an epic arc too.

I just wish there were more episodes!

Yeh this show is very cool. If I had to guess I'd say it's the result of a Netflix exec shouting - MAKE ME A NETFLIX ORIGINAL JUST LIKE RICK AND MORTY DAMMIT!!!

It's not quite as good as Rick and Morty. But it's got that same wonderful mix of crazy humour and characters you actually care about.

I'm so glad this exists. And no, I don't think Netflix had anything to do with its creation; they simply purchased the international distribution rights. The creator of this cartoon is a youtuber that my wife has followed since high school. He started off just telling silly little video-anecdotes and making cheap skits. Over time he began to develop fully-animated and fully-voice-acted independent cartoon pilots; he posted them on Youtube for free. The fact that this actually got picked up (by Conan frikkin' O'Brien of all people) just blows my mind. The guy's name is Olan Rogers. He's a funny dude and very humble.

I definately don't think it's anything like Rick and Morty.

It very much stands on it's own legs.
