Checked out the home page yesterday and it looked weird. I figured something went screwy with some software somewhere. Checked in this morning again and it's still funky. Now I'm think Don is doing this deliberately. Hm....

What's "funky"? The banner ads tucked in between sections changed layout recently (now I see several distinct tiles within each banner), but everything else seems the same as it ever was.

Are you looking at Simplyscripts.com or .net? On .com, there's definitely something funky with the background. Looks like some psychedelic circles. Unless that has to do with the 7WC. I wouldn't know, because I've never seen that show.

This is what I see.

I see that too on the .com side. I spend most of my time on the .net side, so I hadn’t noticed.

I see it on .com. So funky - I'm loving it. Looks intentional - how cool is that. Nice.

Gosh, y'know, that appears to be the "spiral" image from our film Shifter. It seems like Don has given us an IMDb-style wallpaper ad.

Don, you are too much. Jason and I are honoured. Thank you.

Yep, Don did the same background/wallpaper promotion for Breanne's  Warning Shot too.

He sure does get behind us all.

Thanks Don! :)

Yes, mystery solved. That would be correct. Trying to do something eye catching for releases and Chris "Heretic" was kind enough to not object to me experimenting on him.

Also, regarding ad placements.  I am doing some experimentation with another ad provider that sez can provide more relevant ads to the site, particularly with award season coming up.

The Austin Powers style background makes my eyes feel weird, but not in a bad way.

In all honesty, I don't think it works. It's very distracting and the fact that you can see that it ends and begins again adds a cheap feel to the whole thing.

It does need work, but it was something I threw together quickly to catch the eye and support the film.  If you watch the film, it makes more sense. Had I left the movie banner up higher, you would see that it all ties in.
