Cool interview, Anthony. So cool that Matias is hitting it big. Had no idea he wrote Mayhem. Putting it on my watch list immediately.

Great interview and thanks for doing it since a lot of people are curious how things turned out a couple of years down the road.  8)

Matias is a great writer and a thoroughly nice guy, his original interview is worth catching up with if you didn't see it first time round...

And what I've always thought is so inspirational with Matias is that he managed to win Page and sell to Hollywood when English is his second language - remarkable.

Thanks for that. What I find interesting is Matias has 'made it' but it seems just as competitive and fierce once you are past the gatekeepers by the sounds of it.

I was surprised by that too. He told me a while back that the studios tell the agents kind of what they are looking for, then the agents tell the writers they have that write similar material to go write a script that fits what said studio is looking for. So, after several writers have spent a lot of time and energy coming up with an idea, writing the script and polished it, it gets lumped together with the other writers' scripts (that wrote the same thing) and then presented to the studio which MIGHT like one of the scripts or none at all. I don't think the writers got paid for their effort either, unless theirs was picked. So yeah, it's not all Hollywood here I come type scenario apparently.

Same thing also happened to another writer here from SS who now is repped.
