So I had big plans to shoot two short films by mid summer. Obviously that all came crashing down. We still might make one with a minimal crew (pretty much how I work anyway).

Regardless, I decided to just shoot something at home with my wife and the response so far has been quite positive. If anyone wants to check it out, here it is. I know dolls, dummies, freak a lot of people out (my wife makes me keep this guy in our garage) so I tapped into that for a cheap thrill.

Working inside this crawl space for hours and trying to cut myself out of the picture while I'm moving him is something I'm pretty sure I won't do again.

Anyway, I hope anyone who checks it out likes it. Feel free to share your opinion whether you do or don't. Thanks.

James

Classic jump scares nicely done, nice sound effects too.

Quibbles:  Does she say: Who, and not -  What do you want from me? I replayed it and it still sounds like 'who'.
I'm on the fence about the doll speaking. Be more scary if he remains mute, and we get that bit about being locked away for years more explicitly in dialogue. Where the heck do you get scary looking dolls like that? Whew! I loved the shot of the doll's hands and of it being bound in rope and then moving - that was scary. It raised a chuckle at the end from me though and I'm not sure if you're going for real scares or spooky doll type parody or a combo of both because of that.

No apostrophe with Its on the actual film?
Love the creepy font you used for the title and credits.

I always enjoy watching your films, James.

P.S. Jeepers, she really should have waited for her sister to come and dig out that doll.  :D

Hey, Libby

She says what. Maybe its our accent? I can see how you can misconstrue it.

I was on the fence about it, too. Especially since it's my voice. I went back and forth and obviously ended up leaving the doll with some dialogue.

Got him on Ebay for $25 and gave him a paint job and some chompers. Can't even move his mouth with the teeth in.

I think some of it came out comical, but not all on purpose. Was trying for full on horror here. Limitations and lack of experience show up near the end.

Whenever I put and apostrophe in it moved the "s" so far away from "It" that it was distracting. Was just a weird font I used. It doesn't like punctuation.

Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked it... And got a chuckle.
