Hi folks, hoping someone can clear something up for me.

When it comes to formatting your scripts where is the correct place to position FADE IN and FADE OUT?

I've seen it placed on the right and left-handed sides of the screen.
I'm using Final Draft 11 and it places my fades on the right side, but I've seen some people on the discussion boards make a point of telling people it should be on the left side.

So which is it?

I normally have;

FADE IN - left side

FADE OUT - right side

You can also replace FADE OUT with THE END or END at the center, if you wish.

FADE IN = left-justified - always.

Final Draft has a flaw in that FADE IN is included in the TRANSITIONS grouping. Transitions are right justified. However - FADE IN is not a transition. It is a programming error.

Just CAP it and type it as an action line.

Celtx has the same issue. Frustrating.
