Which episode of Inside No 9 inspired you to make this? Or was it just bits and pieces from the show? Only ask cause I'm a big fan, love to know what your favourite episode is. It's funny cause I could picture Steve Pemberton as Kevin for some reason don't know about you? Also was Pip based off Pip from 'Sardines'?  

Anyway got really invested in this story, breeze to read. You got the back and forth dialogue of the 'typical couple' just right, humorous moments. Liked how you gave us the impression that Kevin was sweet ensuring his other half was comfortable and safe. And then that twist, that was despicable and delicious. Looking back at it now I should have known something was up with him providing her with horror films to watch!  

Few things to look out for...

Don't really need (cont'd) and you don't need (on phone) below KEVIN, just 'concerned, she calls Kevin' is all you need. Also one or two spelling mistakes, make sure to re-read.

There wasn't a particular episode I based it on but it was really just the general feel of the show that inspired me. Keeping it bottled to 1 location, twist in the tale etc.
My favourite episodes are 'A Quiet Night In', 'La Couchette', 'Bernie Cliftons Dressing Room' and 'Private View'. I'm aware that the writers are huge horror fans and love referencing them in their shows so that's what I did with this script, I had one of the last scenes mimic 'Psycho'

I wrote Kevin with Steve Pemberton in mind and Pip for Reece Sheersmith although I didnt intentionally name him after Sardines.

Interesting. Yeah I really like those claustrophobic kind of stories, some of my favourite films are 'Cujo', 'Duel', 'Misery', '10 Cloverfield Lane'. And i do get inspired by figures such as Wes Craven, David Lynch and Hitchcock. One of my favourite Craven quotes is, "The first monster that an audience has to be scared of is the filmmaker".

My favourite No 9's include, 'Cold Comfort', 'How Do You Plead', 'Thinking Out Loud', 'The Devil Of Christmas' and 'Diddle Diddle Dumpling'.
