I took a brief peek and didn't see any that resembled what I was going to do. I got it about half-done then realized it wouldn't work how I wanted it to.

It was called "Simon Says" (I'm sure you can see where this is going already): A meek ad agency exec is on the verge of being fired by his brother for not bringing in an adequate pitch and has 24 hours to create one. On his way home, he picks up an old Simon game at a yard sale which, when he plays it, lights up sinister phrases such as "Murder him". The man figures out his pitch and presents his new Simon game to the ad board.

Unfortunately, the last act didn't come together right, so I scrapped it.

18 Scripts and I've read them all... my head hurts

Overall a lot of pretty decent efforts. A few scripts did little to use actual games as the main premise, which I find strange as it was pretty much the only premise.

Honorable mentions so far in my opinion of course

The roll of the dice
It's only words
Kill your Demons
Tick Tock Toe
Ready or not

Great job everyone

I've read most of them. My favorite so far is Tick Tock Toe. I also loved 20 Questions, The Role of the Dice, Ready or Not, and It's Only Words.

I would love feedback on any of these!

I think Don said there were 27.

The ones I've read so far have been quite good. A few left me confused, but overall, I think these OWC scripts keep going up in quality every time.

Just want to say, some people (yes, you Steven Clark  ) seem to think the 'board game & family' thing is compulsory for entries but Blondie Sean said any game would do, and the family component was just a preamble to announcing theme etc. Just sayin' ...

Adding to this list from earlier is Truth or Dare. Tick Tock Toe is still my favorite.

Libby's absolutely correct. Mentioning game night and families was just the introduction to the OWC and not necessarily a part of it. The only rule was that it had to feature a game which previously existed in the real world and have that be crucial to the story. I know there are a couple that aren't that, but they don't need to be crucified. After all, this is all for fun (and I think a big opportunity was missed by nobody writing about writing an OWC script and all that chaos that could derive from it. Just saying...). =)

To be fair, Steven's not the only one getting the wrong idea.

Thanks for clearing up the 'game' element, Sean.

Hide n Seek and Scrabble seem to be the main focus on a lot of scripts
