So, it shouldn't be any big surprise that I wrote Disorder being that it's a sequel to Tunnel Rat from about three years ago. Don't remember it? Not shocked. It was a OWC that required zero dialogue and hot weather. Tunnel Rat was the first short that I turned into a comic. I thought someone would catch that for sure. https://www.hyperepics.com/tunnel-rat That's why no one understood the opening sequence and the red eyes. I took this opportunity to have 20 peers give a first read! HAHA! Thanks for that - I really appreciate the comments. - Gold star goes out to Gum and Marnie for catching the Alice in Chains 'Rooster' references. Something else I've had in mind for a long time. - Someone questioned the title - Disorder - Not just the nonlinear requirement but the PTSD of Weasel. - Yes, the nurse was meant to be the Vietnamese nurse from the opening. The comic will be much more graphic and show the nurse and others at the end. Check out Tunnel Rat if you haven't seen the comic. Disorder will make more sense. And stay tuned for Tunnel Rat II. |
I did catch that, but treated this as a standalone piece. Good on you for returning to it. |

Uggghhhh... think I'm just gonna out myself so I can respond to the comments on mine, I understand the scores taking a bit, but I thought the "who wrote what" would be listed by now. And by the time I get the chance to comment next, the next challenge will probably be starting... |

I won't outright say what I wrote but I have a feeling most of you know. I wanted to address some of the suspension of disbelief stuff with a few links, but I'll be away from my computer for a while and don't feel like searching for them on my phone. I will say that I was going to use this premise for the December challenge but I had other shit to do during that one. As for the father themes, I pretty much stole from my own shit (a script I wrote called Morphine that's been under option since 2013) and more subtly, my movie The Suicide Theory (which you should watch if you haven't). I will touch a little bit on the suspension of disbelief - father doing 25 years for what his son did. Yeah, its farfetched, but the whole story is far fetched. My inspiration was partially Charles Manson living the rest of his life in prison for murders he wasn't even there for. Yes, he orchestrated the murders, but he didnt pay anybody to do it (like the mafia). Also, theres some kinda California penal code that holds a parent responsible if the child is under 14 and the parent is aware of their crime or somehow influenced the crime. I deleted a scene with Malcolm telling a cop that his Dad told him to do it. And then the Dad is questioned... but I thought that was boring and it would bring me over the page limit. Also, a few comments addressed that Malcolm sending the kid his father's head would be traumatic for him. I get that a normal person like you or me would be traumatized... but writing about normal people is boring as fuck to me. The kid asked Santa to kill his father for Christ sake. This little kid is practically a younger version of Malcolm, sharing the same type of abusive relationships. They're very much alike. And though the story is somewhat grounded in reality, I like to contrast it with ridiculous shit... each aspect enhances the other in a weird way. What I was going for was a silly B movie that was grounded in reality and delivered with a very dry, matter of fact tone via a dry and matter of fact delivery in voice over (was going for Wonder Years meets Sissy Spacek in Badlands meets Matthew Mconaughey in Frailty). |

How did you guess me again, you fiend! It wasn't even sci-fi, well it was a little sci-fi lol! But I've certainly never written anything backwards before and found it challenging. |

Nailed it My secret is that I bribe Don to release some of the names to me so I can pretend I am a writer guessing wizard* *This accusation that Don accepts bribes has no basis in fact |
