I noticed : blah, blah, blah, blah.f about an hour ago...

But now the “.f “ is conspicuously missing. Lest the “.f “ was a Thai Pose, me thinks the birthday ( happy-b day, btw... sorry, on an iPad and only have one finger), ahem birthday/ anniversary has the Don giddy and is toying with us, lol.

Very observant, Rick.

I didn't see an 'f' and thought maybe you were on a rant.

It's September.
I suspect near the end of the month the October OWC.
Please let the theme be killer dolls. Clown dolls are a plus.

It is September, Darren but Don likes to mix things up around here, keep us on our toes.

The title of this thread (well, the main one) is September OWC, so hang onto your hats, get your pens and keyboards at the ready, cause an announcement is on the horizon.

Haha! No… no rant this time around, but I did (emphatically) see an “.f “ or was it “f.” ?

Either way, I thought maybe each “blah” represented a letter, and was going to slowly be revealed as an additional letter (clue) over the coming days, at least that’s my initial take, but it appears that was just a typo and was corrected… okay, now I’m ranting, lol.

Woody Allen, eh? For reasons unknown, I keep thinking of one his funniest quotes:

“I would never want to belong to any club that would have me as a member.”

Guesses?: err… comedy? Comedy set in New York? All out of guesses now. Another clue, S'il vous plait?

Also, September is a strange month to have an OWC, not complaining at all; I definitely need something to stoke my writing slump, I just don’t ever remember one in September, all good. Appears you’re running this Libby, or hosting, or … whatever the preferred nomenclature is nowadays?

Umm... not 100% sure, I could be wrong, but my mind somewhat remembers his character 'Alvy Singer' saying it while standing in line at a movie theater (in the movie Manhattan); I think he was paraphrasing an old 'Groucho Marx' quote of the same idea.

It is a Groucho Marx joke and Woody mentions it in the opening monologue of ANNIE HALL.

Ah, that's right. The Diane Keaton 'infamous' line I was thinking of was "La-di-da" from Annie Hall.

Give me a break, its been 40+ years since I watched that movie!

The software for this board is "E-Blah Platinum" and the URLs always have "Blah" in them somewhere.

Probably a coincidence, because I can't really see how the board itself would tie in with an OWC.

Feature-length scripts:
Who Wants to Be a Princess? (Family)
Glass House (Horror anthology)

TV pilots:
"Kord" (Fantasy)
"Mal Suerte" (Superhero)

Additional scripts are listed here.

One of my favorite ol' time skits from MAD-TV that capitalizes on both those (Woody Allen) attributes:

I'm working on a new TV pilot at the moment. It's just spec but I'm focused on it and in that zone so not sure if I'll be participating, just depends on what it is. I'd like to as I enjoyed the WT so we'll see.

Smoking. Drinking. Lots of both.

And, Woody Allen sucks as a writer (Yeah, I said it). So, a faux-witty New York-set crime dramedy (Not Martin McDonagh-style), with lots of introspection and smoking. And the main character dies or wishes they did.

Or, my second guess: their initials W.A.R.C. Flip it around: CRAW. As in fish. As in Bayou-style. Possibly related to New Orleans and/or Voodoo? Nailed it.

Interesting to see the way Blondie's head works.

You're onto something with Martin McDonagh though. He'd deffo make it as a next clue.

And, Mark... I think you'll be able to swing one entry easily.
Rick, you guessed right on the one obvious aspect.

I suck at dialog. Ugh. The new Charlie Kaufman film, "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" is a good example of 2 peeps, one location, heavy dialog. They spend a lot of time in a car.

If the expectation is that we’re going to act out what we wrote, maybe with another person, that’s harder than it sounds. I’m pretty sure the pitch video I sent to Impact X Netflix for Who Wants to Be a Princess? was about the sixtieth take. (And it was still terrible)

How do you 'film' something with no cameras, Ant?
Was it an iPhone job?

Ooh, I see some of you are excited and some are ready to throw the towel in.
Amazing, it's like watching a rumour become truth when you might or might not be on the right track.

One more clue coming shortly on the eve of announcement.

Hahahaha. That was my evil laugh which will never rival Sean's.
Mwahahaha... That's more like it.

A comic thriller, two hander, a woman and a man.

Our clues have Allen and Ephron, Chandler and Tarantino. Maybe one character in New York, the other in LA, or something similar?

Two characters on opposite coasts when disastrous news hits?

I WILL be watching though. I'll try and read a few.

Oh, man. This sounds fun. Alas, I'll be out on this one. Too much going on. And, this time I really mean it. No talking myself into it.

I WILL be watching though. I'll try and read a few.

Good luck all!!

When your hair is combed? It's a jock, not a face mask.
