To the October/Halloween One Week Challenge. You will have one week to write an 8 page or less horror script… After you’ve chosen from one of the 5 categories listed below. Enjoy!
1. Haunted House Horror
• Write a ghost story that is destined to become a modern classic.
2. Tech/AI Horror
• A story where the mechanizations of the modern world have gone terribly astray.
3. Slasher Horror
• Your version of this familiar trope. Here’s your chance to top Michael and Jason with someone who’d eat those two for lunch.
4. Body Horror
• Think — The Thing or The Fly. Feel free to make it as gross as you want, but don’t forget to scare the crap out of us.
5. Psychological Horror
• Expose all your internal fears and mental instability to expose the fragility of the human brain.
The rules.
— We all love kills in horror movies, but if you feel you can scare the shit out of us without one, by all means! — No mashing genre’s. If you choose slasher, don’t throw in body horror, etc. — You may add elements from other genres to your script (comedy, sci-fi, etc), but these scripts should be overwhelmingly horror focused.
Choose wisely, fiends!
The small print…
•This is not a contest. It’s a challenge. •Please put (c) 2025 on your title page. •Please read and review as many scripts as you can. All of them, if possible, but we understand time/commitments get in the way.
I’d like to see at least one death, but it’s not necessary.
what do you mean by "to see"? Is it "to have" a death in the script? Or you want to see a person being killed and die? Do you want to observe the killing itself, is that what you mean?
My 2 cents would be to not allow comedy, as IMO, comedy and horror do not play well together - at all!
In fact, in my eyes, comedy horror is usually pisser territory.
Also, requesting, but not requiring it, is also an issue, as peeps will look for the kill and grade down when one isn't present just because it was mentioned.

Most horror movies have a death. A kill. I’m basically implying if you need to kill someone, go for it. If not, that’s fine too.
