What's the cut off date/time for challenge votes?

Do we vote for the best screenplays for film or the ones that sound the best read out loud as an iScript reading? Combo?

Ray,

You just choose what you think will be best. Obviously mine. Don't worry, I'll pay for my ego in limbo. Should it still exist by the time I get there.

Harumph.

If I was you I'd choose mine. But you could choose Balt's, or DB's, or Johnnyboy's, or whoever. All good. And all votes count.

Florence and Kasabian won tonight. There is a God. And he smiles on those who respect.

There's a drumming sound inside my head
Each time that you're around
I swear that you can hear it
It makes such an almighty sound...

if Kate and Audrey reject me as they have I may just have to focus my attentions on Ms Welsh. Oh yes... What, she has a restraining order on me already? The fucking... clever little tart. Oh dear. I suspect I may go back to delusional posts on SS instead. It's a lot easier than getting arrested all the time outside some bint's gates I tell ya.

As for the iScript determination -- if Don does what he has done in the past, nobody here makes that decision.

The good folks at iScript get a batch of 3-4 top vote-getters, and they decide which one they want to do.

Which seems a remarkably fair way to do it.

I got the email last night. I gave him a list of three.

I hope he doesn't mind, I'll post it:

Quoted from Don

Everyone,

First and foremost, I want to thank you for taking the challenge.

The October One Week Challenge is my favorite challenge of the year.  This year did not disappoint.  This was the best challenge thus far, not only in terms of the quality of the scripts received, but also the interpretation of the theme and limitations.  I also enjoyed to questions (and grief) about the limitations.  I hope everyone took my responses in the spirit in which they were intended.  I do apologize for any ambiguity in the limitations, e.g., ages of the three actors and the appearance of animals.

I've already read all the scripts and I am going through the process of selecting three to send over to iScript.  iScript will select one of the three to audio perform (if I have your permission).   I really want to stress that the selected script isn't "The Winner" or necessarily "The Best" script.  The selected script is one that I enjoyed reading and most closely fit within the limitations of the challenge.

I would like each of you to let me know which three or so scripts, of the scripts you have read,  were your favorites.  The usual questions are:

Q: "Can my script be one of the three?"
A: Yes, if your script was one of your favorites.

Q: I only read five scripts.  You still want my favorites?
A: Yes.

Q: I have more (or less) than three favorites
A: That is fine, let me know what your favorites are.

Q: One of the scripts I liked didn't fit the criteria.
A: I still want to know which are your favorites.

Obviously they'll chose mine.

If they are nice I may even give them audio so they can get the accents right.

The future is not set. It's what you make it.

Oh shite. I may have just ruined mine.

Dedums.

But we're voting on those 3-4.
So, again: Are we picking movies or picking radio?

("Yes", I know I'm a hair-splitting arse. Just tell me what you've been doing, please!)
TY

And a cut-off date/time!

Rendevous -
... I'm...
"Yes". Yes I will.

EDIT : TY, Michael.
Voted for HORROR stories largely fitting the given criteria.

I didn't receive the email since I didn't participate. I guess I'll just PM Don?

I put my vote in.  I didn't vote for my own script, tactfully, either.  I wish everyone luck and hope the script that gets read is deserving of it.  I'd probably be beside myself if it was one of the many wasted parody scripts entered.  Which I know it won't be, but still...

My votes are in and I regretfully did not vote for my own gem of a script.

I'd probably be beside myself if the winner is an overwritten, generic entry that couldn't actually fit in the 10 page maximum.  I doubt it will be, but still...

My picks are in and I picked the ones that I thought met the challenge in an original manner.

Good luck all.

What a predictable ending!  You really need to work on that Phil

Honorable mention:  The Zombotard.

I bet you didn't see that coming.

No. I didn't. But I do think it throws out all believability because it comes from so far out of left field.
