...Glass Rain by Julio Weigend (reaper creeper)

You can listen to the iScript audio performance here.

You can read all the October, 2010 One Week Challenge scripts here.

The scripts submitted to iScript for final selection were:

House of Malvado by Stephen Wells (steveuk)
Cleansed by Steve McDonell (stevie)
Glass Rain by Julio Weigend (reaper creeper)
Alternates:
Jack And The Goo by Catherine Hall (cmhall)
Credit Where Due by Shawn Davis (ledbetter)

Writer's Choice

An email was sent to each of the participants asking them to submit the names of three scripts (of the scripts they had read) that they liked the best.  The writer's choice scripts were:

Cleansed
Credit Where Due
Three on a match
House of Malvado
Black Aggie
Jack And The Goo
Glass Rain
Pumpkinseeds
The Kline Manor Pledge©

Final Note

Selecting only three scripts to send over was very, very hard.  My "final" list of scripts I really liked was about twenty titles long.  Including the above scripts, some of my other favorites were: The Zombotard (great homage to "Balls Out" by Robotard 8000), Tomorrow II: Dusklight (I loved the dialogue), The Kline Manor Pledge© ("let me check the list...")

Again, thanks to everyone who submitted scripts to the challenge.  I enjoyed reading them very much.  - Don

Very special thanks to iScript.com for sponsoring the challenge and selecting the final script.

Good going, Julio.  You stuck to the rules and still managed to tell a dark, twisted tale.  Iscript sounds great.

Congrats, Reap.   I think most will agree you should really turn GR it into a full-length feature.  It's just such a bizarre concept.

EDIT:  You also get a shiny trophy!

Well done Julio!
I thoroughly enjoyed the script, thought it was one of the more original ideas that I've read so far.
Nice one!

Thanks, you guys. I'm humbled by this, and I'm very happy you enjoyed the script so much.

I've been thinking on whether to turn it into a feature or a short story. Maybe both, haha.

Congratulations, Julio.  Good script... SPACE NEXT TIME, though!!!   I'm gonna listen to it and let it sink in all over again.

Edit:

I think everyone in the running deserves a round of applause too.  I personally enjoyed "Three On A Match" -- "Cleansed" & "Jack & The GOO".  All very good scripts, maybe they didn't hit the criteria as well as they could have but all 3 of those script were of honorable mention to me.  Not saying I did or didn't vote for them, but just saying if you haven't read them... Do so.

Congratulations on your iScripts selection, Julio.
I just listened to it and thought it was well done.
You presented a very creepy tale for the challenge and look forward to more of your ideas.

I would also like to congratulate the other writer selected winners (I'm glad Don presented those as I had planned to ask if he didn't).
All very good work, even Zombotard.
(Is Murph around for a posthumous bow?)

Hope to see this much work at the next OWC.

Congratulations to all.

And thanks Don, comments like that keep a fella like me at it.

The best is yet to come... for all of us.

Take care
And keep cooking.

Now I'm going to the pub to drink Jameson and Guinness so I can think clearly about Tomorrow IV.

T3 is on it's way. Ironically I'm looking at T2 in Dublin Airport. It's impressive, nearly as much as T3...
