I checked out the main page of SS and was confronted with an ad. Yes, the bills have to be paid, so doing my bit,  I clicked on  -- "Who is your celebrity cell mate." You've probably seen it. I answered numerous questions, hoping my cell mate would be Lindsay Lohan. I know most of the public thinks she's a slut. Maybe she is; maybe she isn't. If her last name was Beatty, though, we wouldn't ask such questions. We'd just admire her.

Yes, I know she does drugs. Big deal. Everyone does drugs, Prozac, Viagra, whatever. Some are legal, some aren't. It's just too bad that some, given their "drug of choice" end up in jail. It's incredibly hypocritical ~ we watch TV and pretend to have virtues, morals, etc.,yet, pop pills, down drinks, anything to get us through the night.

But we're good people. We should be proud ~ at least we're not like her, or, worse yet, her parents. It's a good thing we're not human. It's nice to be perfect.

Somewhere, I read that the last perfect christian died on the cross. I wish all the other "perfect" christians would do the same. Perhaps then we could get past this idea that people who have medical problems, like alcoholism, are sinners.  

Anyway, in the end, I was asked for an e-mail address. I refused to give it -- get too much spam already.

As for the drugs-thing and Lindsay Lohan, I don't object so much to her doing illicit drugs but the manner in which she does. She obviously has no control over it, which is evident from her numerous incidents involving crashed cars. I believe it is possible to do (most) drugs responsibly, but the reason why there is a law against is it exactly because of "party people" like Lindsay Lohan.

Also, it should be noted that just because you drink heavily and go to rehab it doesn't mean you're an alcoholic or have a physical craving for it. It could just mean you're spoilt and really LIKE to drink. Going to rehab is as much a publicity stunt as anything.

That's what I can't stand about Lindsay, Paris, Nicole and the rest. It's all about the excess lifestyle. Excess drugs, excess money, excess exposure. Gimme, gimme, gimme, me, me, me!

You wouldn't know it from watching TV, but there are far more fascinating people out there, and out here that could use just a little attention.

You're absolutely right. If Lindsay can't drink or do drugs responsibly -- and by that I mean, at the very least, not getting behind the wheel of a car, she shouldn't engage in such activities. I do think she has a real problem (unlike some who go to treatment simply to improve their image).

I just think it's hypocritcal the way the public so hates her.

The other day I saw a 4 year-old-blind Korean kid play Mozart on the piano on youtube. He had 12,000 views.

Paris Hilton's interview with Larry King had what? 3,5 million? And I bet she can't even hum the Sesame Street song.

I think 3.5 million views vs. 12,000 has more to do with people hoping to spy clips from "One night in Paris" than press coverage, which is pretty sad when you're on YouTube.  I'd bet the teeny-boppers contribute quite heavily to that as well.

I remember seeing some clips online about a year ago, about amn autistic kid who was an equipment manager for a HS basketball team.  The coach gave him some time to play during the last game of the season and he lit it up, hitting I think 6 threes.

I am sorry, but the shear stupidity of this is astounding. How can you equate detrimental drugs, like cocaine, with a drug like Prozac and Viagra? Do you know how stupid you sound?

Cocaine is a drug with one purpose, and one purpose only. To dull the senses and make dumb people dumber.

Prozac is a drug that helps people with OCD,depression and Panic disorder. No one takes Prozac to get high or forget there troubles. It effects REAL medical conditions.

Viagra is another drug that is not taken to forget how crappy ones life is. Are there idiots that take it just to stay hard longer? Sure, but it was not meant to be a "party drug" it was meant to give older men there sexual prow-less back.


I have few vices. I like Cigars and Pipe tobacco on occasion. I have been known to go 6 months or more without even touching a cigar. I drink rarely,and have never been drunk. I have been depressed since I was 12, and never taken meds for it because of my own personal beliefs. Oh how do I ever make it through the night without being a drug addicted alcoholic? Oh yeah, the old fashion way...NORMALY!

There is a chemical reaction and physichal dependence in certain drugs; if you wish to dispute this you best come up with more than a personal anecdote to back that up. I'm sorry be so harsh about it, but having something tragic happen to a family member does not make you an expert on the bio-chemical effects of illicit drugs.

I wil also concur that people are over-medicated, and I have no love for the drug companys whatsoever, as they own the US Congress. (Thanks alot, Merck. They know what they did.)

I will, however, state my opinion that marijuana should be legally available to consenting adults, just as alcohol is.

Who cares what cocaine was used for in ye olden times. Tobacco leaves were used as medicine before as well, but we don't use that anymore do we? Now like Coke,it is used for non medicinal porposes. At least in the U.S.
