This is the first episode of the web series that has been occupying my time lately.  I feel quite exhausted to finally have it up on the web so I'll keep this short. I hope you all enjoy it.

Computer Girl

A web series about an electronic girl dealing with life's biological problems.

First up: Computer Girl loses her virginity.

I suspect this is even better than you think it is, Cornetto.

There is lots of potential for this.  Good stuff.  Knowing Shelton makes this even funnier.

I am curious as to her origins.  Is that going to be left unsaid, or is there somebody already working on that?

I really liked this Michael! You write music too?  The humor in this felt natural vs. forced. I read the blog and script. Awesome effort. More like this please.

Thanks for watching guys and happy you enjoyed.  Two more episodes are in the works and I'm hoping to have a total of six for the first season.   I think the episodes will be at least a month apart though.

And no bert, there's no origin planned.  I thought about it but I decided it was better leave the true nature of Computer Girl a bit ambiguous because it gives her a chance to be either human or a machine during the course of the episodes.

And a special thanks to Mike (whom you all know) and Beth (whom you don't) for doing such a splendid job with the voices.

Cheers,

Michael

Hey Michael this was really good.  Just out of curiosity, how long did this take you to produce as it was impressive?  Look forward to the next episode.

It took a number of months but much of the reason for the time delay was waiting for the voices. Sally had a cold for a month and a half and a couple of times the person doing Carlton fell through - thankfully Mike was reliable and he did a great job with it too.  Plus there was a bunch of software learning involved.  The next time should be much quicker.

The animation reminded me of Xavier, but the humor was ten-fold better. There's potential here and I'd love to see the next episode.

Michael,

I sincerely enjoyed this, but not only in a "funny ha-ha" kind of way. I feel it as like a delving into the laws that define everything from the general to the particular and the particular to the general.

In other words, I see the correlations spoken of here and they are significant in everything. For instance, we do get the same laws functioning upon our computers as we see in corporeality, but more, the laws that exist within, exist in the general astrological order, the rhythms, the systems perceived and not perceived.

This is the kind of video that I, personally would watch over and over again.

Now, tell me, did I hear your voice say something in this? Because I heard your voice and it was like I was in Skype. What did you say?

For anyone who loves correlations as much as I do, this is your story.

Sandra

I enjoyed this Michael and think there's a lot of potential for this series.

There's a few great memorable lines in there.

Was this inspired through twitter?  How did this come about?

No condom! She was lucky she didn't catch a virus too.

That was pretty good. It'll be interesting to see if it has the legs to keep going or if the computer references start to get boring. I guess if you have regular characters and flesh out her world as the series goes on it could work.

Hey thanks for watching guys.

Javier I wrote this specifically for the animation software.  The reason it's about Computer Girl is  because I wanted to use a computerized voice for at least one of the characters.  The character however was inspired by a conglomerate of women I've worked with.

Chris  There's two other episodes written and in the works. I intend to have six for the season.  I don't think the humour will get stale in six very short episodes. If I sense people want more at that time then I'll do a season two but it will be after a break so people will have time to recharge their need for computer metaphors.

Sandra, Pia and I are on the television when Cartlon first enters the living room.

Cheers,

Michael

I liked it. I think you did a really good job with it.

I was amazed at the negative comments. I voted 5 stars.

That stuff is hard to do. I hate when mean spirited people comment or vote in a negative way from the safety of their online anonymity.

I read the comments and I think that's because it's a bit different from what they are used to seeing - they get a link to it in their subscriptions and then click on it to watch it only to find it wasn't done with Halo.   I'm not overly concerned about that because it's never going to be Halo.  Some people dug it and that's the audience I'm after.

BTW Here's a link to the script for those of you that are interested in such things.

Needs a little sound editing. Computer girl is much louder then other cast members. As is Pia with the harmonization.

Beth outshines you all as an actor... Sorry, but she's good. Gorgeous too, but thats your doing.

Interesting work. i watched them all and they progressed well. Your grip of machinima is gettin better each time. good work Michael and cast members.

Did you do the music for the opening scene? That sounded professionally produced.

Look forward to The Dark.

Hey guys,

Thanks for watching. I've been playing around for a while on trying to get the sound levels the same.  It's really difficult because they are from all different sources.  I've found a method I think works now (after I did this episode). I used that method on Simply Radio this week - does that sound better this week?

As far as the Machinima.com audience on YouTube goes...well...they've always had difficulties with Computer Girl.  This is mostly due to the fact that I use Moviestorm to make the movies and not some other game engine.  They don't like the way it looks. This episode they got a bit of a double whammy because it's really hard to understand this episode if you haven't watched the other episodes.   I kind of expected they would be a bit harsh with it.  As long as they watch it, that's really what counts.

Cheers,

Michael

I didn't read the youtube comments til Pia mentioned them. Ha. I thought I was a shit. These turds are brutal. But you're right. They still sat there and watched it. More views, more views.

Probably the same douche logged in under 30 different usernames.

Watched it as I read Gumballs comments. And he right. I agree.

Didn't like the intro music. But I can be a snob when it cums to tunes and the like.

Big cups. Of choc I mean. Very big. Good work cone fella. Keep it cooking. Not burning like I do. That can get messy. Good job I smoke. Anyone know any good interior decorators? Cheap good ones.

I also suspect another reason the younsters on Machinima.com are having a hard time with this episode is because of the piece of classical music I force them to listen too.  However, it fits the scenes perfectly and I didn't want to cut it just because some folks might not like it.

And yes, j, I did all the music.  Though I won't be doing all the music for The Dark. I might look for something Heavy Metal for The Environmentalist, if I can find anything like that Creative Commons.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter why they're watching episode 4. or if they like it, I noticed that people were watching it just to find out why other people didn't like it.  I think that's pretty cool actually.

And it's catapulting episode 3 to 10,000 views - only 50 plus a few more views to go.

Hey Guys,

I'm in the middle of campaign to get subscribers for Computer Girl TV.  This is where The Dark will be found btw.

Anyway, if I can get enough subscribers then something really good will happen.   So if you have a YouTube account please subscribe and if you need the sub back then let me know - via YouTube and I will reciprocate.

Thanks,

Thanks for subbing tonka, Rick...

You've both been subbed back.

It seems that it's much easier to get friends on YouTube than it is subs. Though that could be the way I'm approaching it because I'm friending first then letting people sub the channel, then I sub back.

BTW if anyone comes across any weird arty avant-guarde videos on youtube let me know. Or if you happen to come across full sci-fi movies (even if they are in parts) then let me know that too.

Cheers.
