It's quiet here. Maybe everyone went on nice long vacations. There was no OWC in July and there probably will not be another one until October.
I personally have nothing in particular going on writing wise at the moment. I finished my episode of Seriously wounded yesterday titled Two Cocktails and a Toe Tag. I'm reshooting some stuff for Old Wounds after the 14th some time and the FK rewrite I will tackle in September. In other words, I don't have anywhere in particular to aim my 5 pages/day. Is anyone interested in some writing? A game. Another SoulShadows, Buckets of Blood or something new. A feature writing challenge or anything else?
Let me know if you're interested or have any ideas.
Congrats on finishing Two Cocktails and a Toe Tag. Great title!
I'm sorry, Pia, I have to pass. I would love to do some fun writing.
But, I'm pushing hard to finish a rough draft of a new feature this week. And I've got to rip apart act one of Zombie Playground before the next pitch event. Plus polish the new feature for the big Pitch Expo on 9/18 here in L.A.
Lastly, working with a student filmmaker that wants to produce West Side Markets. And tweak Lie Detector as I get more producer notes.
However...I can cough up a few hours for a wine heavy podcast!

LATEST NEWS CineVita Films is producing a short based on my new feature!
I know people are busy or have left, but it used to be this place was hopping with different stuff going on. We had games a lot of people took part in and different series and stuff. Now this place seems very dead. Not many people are reading even. Which reminds me. I got to finish Transgate and your new version of Lie Detector. I have stuff I can tinker with, just thought it would be fun if some other people felt like doing something fun.
I just got back from vacation myself -- mostly off the boards for about three weeks.
Returned to a boat-load of work -- and again, find myself with very little play-time.
I sure wish I had the time to read everything I wanted to, with new stuff from Janet, James, Heretic, Cindy, and yeah, that Lie Detector rewrite by some hack I heard about somewhere...
You can call it "dead", but I sure see lots of new writing going on -- which is great -- just not as much playing around as there usually is.
I'm game for all of the above, Pia. Those writing games were great, IMO.
I'd even be up for another 7WC or the like, as I guess I need some sort of deadline to actually pump out a feature. I still haven't gotten past the research/planning for me latest feature, but I really do want to write it and maybe some sort of deadline based challenge would be just what the Doc ordered.
Another Podcast would be good Friday as well, but not Saturday.

This!
Is very true, for me. The deadline for Zombie Playground was the 6/5 PitchFest. Kept me on track for the ten weeks leading up to the event. Plus the added incentive of paying for the convention in advance helped.
Glad to hear your interview went great!

I wanted to do a couple of games that were planned and scrapped back in the day, but not enough people went for it. Having all the time in the world, I'm still up for it, but this place, overall, is less busy than it was back then.
I just don't know if enough people will go for it to get it done. And, when I mean games, I don't mean (insert number here)WC's or anything like that. I mean things like that Killer game you guys had or the old planned hitmen/serial killers on a plane or whatever.
Doesn't matter to me, though. If we don't, I still have plenty of writing that's not getting enough attention from me anyway.
Good of you to always be keeping different things going!
I'm in pre-production on a feature right now so I'm pretty busy, sneaking on here when I can.
A 7WC would be great for me as I've got a script I've been meaning to bang out which I haven't had the time for. But I'd be game for anything, as time allows.
I'd totally be game for a 7WC if others are interested. What would you like to see the assignment be? Genre based? Something from the InkTip lists of producers looking for? Lets come up with some ideas that can benefit us all.
As some of you know, I've been in a writing slump lately, but I still try to stick to my 5-10 pages/day just for a writing routine. I think it would help me get back on track if I was under pressure to make something besides short shorts. I have enough of those I need to finish or already have finished.
Let me know what you guys want to do. I'm game for anything.
Man, if I could write 5-10 pages a day, I wouldn't be bogged down in all these damned features right now. I have ridiculous amounts of ideas but when I sit down to write them, my hands freeze up. Although, two weeks ago (for four days), I did do 55 pages, so that was a friendly total.
Maybe I could go for a 7WC. After all, I've failed the other two (although I'm this close to finishing the one from 2009, finally) and maybe the third time's the charm. =)
I'm not much of a gamer myself, but when I lost my business last year, I started playing this game online called Evony. Man, it eats up all your time! When I stopped cold turkey, that's when I started writing, never went back. I actually made some online friends in the game that I stay in touch with. I played that game all summer while I adjusted to my new life. Still trying to adjust!
Good to see you back around!
Yeah, I was addicted to Evony for a couple of weeks! Now there's heaps of those browser based games. I play mainly the free MMORPG'S, the fantasy ones. I enjoy having my char ruun around killing 10 monsters to do a quest. Though I started playing a FPS, Combat Arms. It is pretty cool blowing the shit out of zombies in a secluded cabin with dudes from all over the world.
There are tons of FREE games out there and the graphics are getting better and bigger
I'll love to participate in the 7OWC if you guys let me in. I still feel guilty in not finishing up last time. . I still have the draft, but haven't worked on it for a while. This time around I'm submitting regardless of anything. If not that, anything else is fine with me. I love the soulshadows. Never participated in buckets of blood but will like to.
Been too busy with Max's Traveling Circus. I'm trying to see if I can finish at least one feature which, dare I say, may be this one. It's really difficult because of the characters dialogue and actions. Currently, I'm around 20 pages in the rewrite stage but the story's moving forward. I have no idea what happens after pg.30 though lol. But I'm looking to submit it here around September if it's meant to be.

Just Murdered by Sean Elwood (Zombie Sean) and Gabriel Moronta (Mr. Ripley) - (Dark Comedy, Horror) All is fair in love and war. Okay, I admit that I'm not sure what a 7WC actually is, but I'm game I'm getting back into my writing from a bit of a rough patch and could use the incentive;)
