Disney guru says story is bullsh*t when it comes to tentpole features.
I like the part where he trashes Alice in Wonderland to make his point.

i hate to say this, but he's right. do i disagree with him? absolutely. story does matter. but does it matter to the general public? eh not so much. advertise a film with big names, flashy special effects, and slap a pg-13 rating on it and it doesnt matter what the film is about. it'll most likely be a summer hit. the movie business is just that...a business. and unfortunately assholes like this get to green light terrible pictures because it makes their company money. the whole article is just sad really. to be honest, i cant blame the studios. i blame us for throwing money at the shit we're being told to see

im sure there's a special layer of hell reserved for everyone who sees Battleship...

Andy Hendrickson, I am forever indebted to you. What have I been doing with my life?

That's it! I'm going to business school.

If "success" is "financial success", it's hard to disagree with him.

Highest grossing films

Lord of the Rings, Toy Story, Dark Knight, Jurassic Park, and Finding Nemo are the only films in the top 25 that have anything like a good story, in my opinion.  I suppose you could make a case for Episode 1, but it's, you know, Episode 1.

No, I don't think his job is in trouble at all.
I may think he's wrong and think he's a crock.
You might think he is a blockhead.
He gets paid regardless.
