I guess the good news is that the studios are re-evaluating the hefty budget, CGI laden drivel they've previously shoveled onto our plates. The bad news is that in this instance, Universal has to pay Hasbro $5MM just for dropping the project - an amount that would get most of our indie movies booted up...

That one actually sounded cool, too.

But wait -- so they are pulling out of "Ouija" -- but are still "closely evaluating" Candyland??

WTF is wrong with those guys?  No wonder they can't make a dime.

Yep, and the next big budget game board movie will be Hungry Hungry Hippos - 90 minutes of huge hippo heads sliding forward and eating marbles...

Can't wait!

Universal has been clearing out its development slate like a bargain bin.
In recent months, they've dumped Ouija and the Clue remake.
Given thumbs down to Tom Cruise, James Cameron and Guillermo del Toro.
That trio doing a Chthulu action horror extravaganza would've been fun to see.
And the biggest of all is shooting down Ron Howard and the Dark Tower series.
