Happy Birthday Don. Hope things are settling down at work.

Happy birthday, and thank you for all that you do. I have the feeling big things are going to happen on this site in the coming years, one hell of a contribution to film.
I can't live the buttoned-down life like you. I want it all. The dizzying highs, the terrifying lows, the creamy middles. Sure, I may offend some of the blue bloods with my cocky stride and musky odors. Oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called "city fathers," who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards and talk about what's to be done with this Homer Simpson?
Happy Birthday Don! thanks for everything! without you, none of my shorts would have been produced and i probably would have given up on screenwriting. thanks for inspiring us all.

My guess is, Bert, and I could very well be mistaking, is that they are for messages of a congratulatory nature. Again, I could be mistaking. There's a first for everything.

Jeff, I'll have you know that was the last picture of my great aunt at the moment a high impact quail egg hit the back of her throat during the national high impact quail eating contest.
I seldom contribute to these sorts of threads -- not sure what they are for, really -- and maintaining my own birthday a closely-held secret.
As I was researching why we celebrate birthdays I came upon an interesting fact. If you take 57 people at random then there is 99% probability that two of them have the same birth date. But on average only 25 people are required to find two with the same birthday.
This has nothing to do with why we celebrate. So here's some interesting links...
- first to be celebrated was the sun's birthday on the solstice. - then royalty - Kings started celebrating theirs because there was records of when they were born. - then once records were kept for everyone they started celebrating their birthdays as well.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes, tho these wishes also go out to all of you. Each anniversary of SimplyScripts is a testament to all of you since without you, the site and the discussion board would be very much a one sided conversation.
Special thanks to Bert and Ryan. While all the birthday congratuations made my day, this one put the second biggest birthday grin on my face (next to the one received from the short Chinese woman I live with).
