Humanoids from the Deep - probably Roger Corman's best from 1980...and much better than most give it credit for.

and

Orca - Richard Harris and Bo Derek in what many call a Jaws ripoff that actually was pretty frickin' good.

Would it surprise anyone if I said I saw them both at the theater?  I didn't think so...

Both classics, as far as this kid is concerned.

I saw Orca in the theater when I was a kid. I thought it was very boring and at that point in my life, Bo Derek was definitely not a draw.

Boring?  For reals?

IMO, far from boring, and I absolutely loved (and remembered to this day) numerous scenes, including the intro where Orca took out the Great White withe the head butts!

Miss you, man...really do.  Seem to be always in trouble with someone and few got my back these days.

Hope things are rolling for you, bro.  You're missed around here, at least by me.  Good to see you pop back in now and then.

You thinking about entering the mystery potential OWC?  Sure hope so.

Good to hear from you, but we didn't hear much...we need MORE!!!!

Heya -- I've been doing a ton of here and there stuff... Just getting over the flu right now.  Went to the park on a 70 degree day; some kid runs up the slide as I'm putting my daughter on it to go down -- sneezes all about my face and neck -- 2 days later I was bed ridden for 2 weeks straight... Pissed me off.  I'm still coughing up and I lost 12 pounds in the exchange too.  Needless to say I'm itching to get back into the gym Monday!!!!

Anyways, I'm mainly focused on entering some contest right now.  I've been prepping a script for almost a year now for a few that I missed the deadline on last year.  We'll see if the money spent on consultants, "script doctors" and analyst was/is worth it in the end.  Sometimes I have my doubts.

I don't think I'll be entering this OWC... I'm too unorganized on my script right now and late entry deadlines are coming up quick.

Sorry to hear about the perpetual heat you've been getting... It does happen.  I use to get a lot of it myself, and probably still would if I was around more.

When things get out of control, just take a few steps back -- Distance yourself from the site for a few days/weeks and let it blow over.  Don't burn the bridge down before you get a chance to truly use it... No matter how right you think you are, odds are the majority isn't going to see it your way.  And it's not that they're wrong or being pricks -- it's just that's the difference of opinion this place brings together.

You gotta balance that out and find a happy medium where everyone can allow one another to be themselves, but not walk all over each-other in the process.  It's tough for the mods, and Don... this place is a close knit community.  A lot of the guys who come here have been here for years and years and years... to kick someone off the site is probably a weighty issue.  It's like having an unruly family member who always causes trouble -- They roll their eyes, grin, bare it, make excuses, then lecture you about your behavior.

I honestly wouldn't take it personally, man.  I really wouldn't.

Anyways, I better jet -- my finger is cramping and my swype isn't behaving tonight.

P.S. HFTD, when you boot it up is titled "Monsters".  I was like WTF??

Also, check out "THE BABY"... it's a friggin' trip.  It'll leave you with something...  One bizarre flick.

i know how you feel. i got a 2 and 4 year old here at home.... lets just say between Oct-March... health is relative in this house. every 2 weeks one of them gets sick with some kind of ancient biblical plague and then proceed to turn the entire house into a petri dish.

suffice it to say - they've turned me into a complete germ-phobe.
