I may - and I stress the word MAY - be in a position to do someone a favor and get it in front of some well-capitalized people. Again, I stress the word 'may', and also stress the words 'production ready'; no first or second drafts, this has to be something ready to go and something you've been ready to shop or have started to shop. PM me if you have it...
Probably too late by then - this guy has some things he's looking at that are ready, but he wants to dip his toe in other waters to see if there's something better. Keep in touch with me about it though just in case...
And I'm starting to hear about a lot of these type of opportunities, and I'm rarely in a position to take advantage of them myself because I know my limitations - I'm a character / dialogue / quirky situations type writer, and a lot of what I hear about is horror and action.
I'm sure Pia, Phil, E.D., Breanne, and some others are starting to hear about these things as well...
So a word of advice - pick ONE thing, polish it to a high sheen, get good coverage on it, make sure you have an intro package on it (query letter, synopsis / fact sheet, attachments if any, budget top sheet would be good, character breakdowns are helpful), and then be ready to pounce when something comes up...
Hey Alffy, good to see you back. You can trust that anything I've read before I still have in the back of my mind in case a match arises.
Right now I'm passing around leads out of the goodness of my heart (well, okay, that's not completely true - I'm sure any lead I hand out will have crumbs I can then sweep up for GA); however, eventually, it's likely I'll join my agent's production company in an official capacity and scout projects for a living.
I like writing, but I like this producer stuff as well - I think I have a knack for it...
I have an action thriller script I sent out to some potential reps to check out. I haven’t done anything other than write it and send it out to some people who wanted to see it. It’s literally hot off the grill.
It’s got a lot of action. I don’t know if it could be descried as high octane, though. I didn’t sacrifice heart for action. I feel it’s got plenty of both.
I don’t know if that sounds like what you’re looking for. You didn’t mention a budget range but that’s the closest thing I have to what you describe.
That's sooo strange Bert, I'm wearing that right now...
Just to be clear I have no horse in the race here - just networking with a guy who read GA a while back and who's looking for this type of script. And he has some already, and one will get made - this was just a chance to knock the big kid off the top of the monkey bars...
