From an older episode of Family Guy. Made me LOL.

Embedding isn't working for me, so click here.

(And sorry for the crappy quality; it was the only video I could find.)

Lol.  That was hilarious.

I think I do do a little bit of writing in public just to get out of the loud house or I'll do it to get inspired by environment, but subconsciously... hmm.  I don't know.

I'm afraid to take my laptop out of the house. And I know longer remember how to hand write. I can barely sign my name.

The only time I have ever written at a Starbucks (or in public at all) was about a month ago when my dog had surgery 2 hours away from where I live and I had 4 hours to kill before picking him up.

'Artist' is not a term you should use to refer to yourself. Let others, and your work, do it for you.

Haha, funny because it's so true.  And if you happen to stray by one of their tables and steal a glance at the monitor, damn do those people get touchy.  I never understood the attraction of writing in a coffee shop with all that yapping going on.  Always wondered if Starbucks had a time limit on their tables when they shoo away these writers after they've ordered like one coffee in three hours.

Come on, Kev - it hasn't been that long!!

As for me - I never write in Starbucks.  But on the subway?  CONSTANTLY.  For some reason, the noise doesn't bother me there.   (But a TV or music at home is a terrible dstraction.)

Don't have a laptop (or go to Starbucks - there ain't many of them here in Oz)

I do sit in the car at my kid's school - you have to get there at least 40 minutes early every day to get a good car space - and hand write my stuff if feeling up to it.

It's not my thing to want to be alone in a coffee shop merely writing. If ideas jump into my head I'll jot them down, but specifically bringing my laptop for that purpose and on a regular basis feels obsessive and constrictive.

I think I'm too paripatetic to want to be stuck in a coffee shop for three hours.

Funny video! I do sometimes write or read in the garden on the weekend but that's only because it's peaceful. I can't imagine writing in a busy coffee shop, I get annoyed with all the noise at home.

When my father-in-law lived here...that year I went anywhere to write. I started off at Panera...then sometimes McDonalds...the people you see on a regular basis in these places are quite interesting. Then I found the library and I actually like writing in the library...but that was BEFORE my laptop started typing funny. It's like all the sudden my keyboard is too touchy ...so I'm back to the desktop dinosaur at home. My father-in-law's no longer with us, so I feel more free to write at home.

I've had some funny skype sessions in these public places...I'll be skyping with my daughter and tell her about the people around me....she always likes me to turn the laptop so she can get a view. I've had a lotta fun writing outside of the house
