Yes, it is officially true. The Kid is on his way back to his beloved Valley of the Sun.
After 8 years of unemployment, I am finally going to join the rest of the human race and work for a living again. It's all happened very quickly. The last week of April, I got a lead for an awesome opportunity through an old work acquaintance. This lead me to a very cool guy I had never met, and we hit it off instantly. He hooked me up with his friend and owner of an MGU in Sacramento, CA. I talked with him and his VP and 3 days later, I had a fantastic offer to work from my home, anywhere I wanted.
I firmed up the offer and details and drove 2,000 miles to AZ on a house hunting trip the 2nd week of this month. I found an awesome...and I mean fucking awesome house in the natural desert of Cave Creek, AZ, just north of North Scottsdale. I used my charm and somehow leapfrogged 4 other interested parties and got the house...for $900 a month less than they wanted. SWEET!!!
I flew back to WI last Tuesday and have been packing up all my shit, and I'm now ready to leave on another 2,000 mile cross country trip, driving a 26' U-Haul truck early tomorrow morning. I can't put into words how I feel, but let's just say I'm fucking fired up!
I'll arrive Thursday and move in Friday, 6/1. I start working Monday, 6/4, and will most likely be flying to Sacramento Tuesday to meet my new colleages. I'll be heading up the entire Underwriting department and in charge of Sales and Marketing as well. It's a kick ass opportunity and I need to rock this out. Things will be tight the first month, as money has not been my bestest buddy these last few years, but the cash will be flowing in soon, and I should be back on my feet in a couple months.
Just wanted to let those who give a shit, know. You just may see a new, more gentle Dreamscale in the future...or, a new, meaner, more arrogant asshole Dreamscale. Time will tell.
Be back on June 1.

In all honesty, Simply Script has beeen a Godsend to me over these difficult times and I've made many actual friends here, whether or not we've actually met in person. You know who you are and I thank you for all the support you've provided.
