Cheers for that, Andrew.

That looks superb and for £39 too. Bargain. Have you been to any before and are they as interesting as they look?

No worries.

Never been before, but am tempted by £39 and the networking opps.

The day breaks down as:

Quoted from Raindance
10:00 – 11:30am Writing The Screenplay

Have you ever had an idea for a movie?
Let Elliot Grove explain to you the basic principles of writing screenplays and demonstrate the powerful storytelling tools used by the professionals.
•Finding an idea
•Creating memorable characters
•Playing with story structure
•Copyright and legal basics
•How movies are bought and sold

11:30 – 11:45 Break

11:45 – 1:00pm Making the movie

Making movies is not complicated. It is hard work.

Raindance founder Elliot Grove explains how movies are produced and will explain dozens of shooting tips that will save you money and make it easier to get your movie made.
•Creating a budget
•Chosing a camera
•The Raindance 5 Minute Film Lighting School
•Shooting on locations
•Securing permissions for shooting in public
•Guerilla filmmaking demystified

1:00 – 2:00pm Lunch

2:00 – 3:45pm So you want to direct?

Why is it that everyone want to direct, but no one ever takes the time to learn how?
Our tutors are veterans of the British film industry and will explain the principle basics of directing, and how to get the actors and crew to do what you want.
•Basics of film directing
•Crossing the line
•Camera placement and why it is important
•Communicating with your cast and crew

3:45 – 4:00pm Break

4:00 – 5:00pm Breaking Into the film industry

If you would like paid work in the film industry, this is the session for you. Elliot Grove will explain how to prepare yourself for work as a writer, producer, director, cameraperson, editor or art director.
•Showreels and CVs explained
•Choosing your field
•Marketing and promoting yourself
•Negotiating pay and what you can expect to earn

5 – 7 Networking drinks

We retire to a nearby bar for networking drinks.
[This event has become very popular - bring lots of business cards and find a collaborator]

**Read a review of the Saturday Film School

What is included
•Cold drinks will be available during coffee breaks (lunch is not included)
•24 page Course Handout includes script format guide used by professional screenwriters, storyboard templates, glosssaries of filmmaking terms, budget templates, sample CV templates – will be provided.
•Followup email full of useful links and additional resources.

Could be some very useful bits in there - will probably buy one after a little ponder.

That all looks pretty impressive for the money you'd probably spend on a night out anyway.

It'd probably be a good idea for anyone embarking on this kind of thing to actually do one of those and get pro advice right from the get-go. It couldn't hurt.

And the 5-7 drinks in a nearby bar sounds interesting. Especially with like minded people. Could get rather messy.

Cheers for that, old chap.

Kip.

Wowzer, that is a great discount!

Andrew, do you know if that discount is useable for the upcoming courses as well? I'm definitely up for this, but am unfortunately busy this coming Saturday.
