There's been a thread like this at MoviePoet for a long time. I don't know why we never had one here.

It's a chance for everyone to "brag" about their successes in screenwriting. Sometimes it's small news, sometimes big news. It's all welcome here. It can be anything from having completed writing a short script to getting something you wrote having a theatrical release and anything in between. I know for a fact that a lot of peeps here have things happening and this would be a good place to share with everyone...I'll go first.

In the fall of 2010, I posted a script here titled Finders Keepers. I intended to shoot it myself, but a big family accident wiped that off my schedule. However,  next year, in December, a producer contacted me about my 7WC thriller script Blackout. Things got weird from then on. Blackout and Finders Keepers ended up getting produced by this guy and they are now both being released all over the place. Not theatrically, even though it says so on the imdb page, but still. To my knowledge, this is the first time a script that originated at SS is getting released by a distributor everywhere. The reach is over 100M people in the US and Canada. The release date is April 4th!

I also have three shorts. The End a zombie short is being shot right now in the UK

A Mime Is A Terrible Thing To Waste is being shot in the UK this month.

First Time is the first script I ever sold. It's a short homo erotic vampire horror. It is currently in production. I saved the check I got from it.

Anyway, what do you have happening?  Tell us!

That's awesome news Pia.

My short 11:07 started shooting last friday and I just got an email tonight, that a production company in Canada wants to direct my "Unlikely Last Supper" ... animation, I think.

So 2 in 2 months

Excellent news, Mark!!

I've always said that people might knock SS, but fact is, real people are checking our stuff out here!

Btw, my short First Time garnered the interest of a semi big production company. Not for the short, but they liked my writing. They wanted me to write a treatment for them for one of their features...I failed that one, but it proves that production companies are looking here. So, post your SCRIPTS here, people!!!

Great thread, Pia.

As for me, finally got an IMDB page with writing credits for a feature and a short on it, which makes me somewhat "official," I suppose.

The short (Baptism by Fire) is based off a script I wrote for school back in 2009 (No Guts, No Glory), which was directed by a film student for his thesis project. It was a small victory at first, which would've been enough for me, but since then, the guy has been hitting the festival circuit pretty hard and shockingly, at least to me, the film's been doing exceedingly well. It's made a number of official selections and even received a few awards and nominations (for acting and directing). The director's name is Craig Surko and my hat goes off to him. He's done more with what was a little thing to me at a time than I could've ever anticipated.

The feature is called "The Sick," which I wrote on assignment for some locals. It's the first project in which I've worked in person with the producers and crew, including a close friend of mine who will be handling DP duties, and was a major learning experience for me. Everyone's full steam ahead in pre-production at present with production hopefully right around the corner so I've got high hopes for it.

There's been some brewing surrounding several other features I've written but it's all up in the air at this point. I'm hopeful, nevertheless.

As far as present writing goes, the past year has not been good for me at all, having been plagued with writer's block, among other things. Finally starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel at this point. I've learned a lot and think my next feature is going to be the first in a whole new phase of writing for me, which I feel is worth a plug. This shit is not easy.

Congrats James! Especially on the feature! And I hope you get over that writers block.

Any word on Frozen In Time? I thought I saw a post from them on FB awhile back.

And all you other people, you know who you are, c'mon. Tell us what you're up to!!

Had a couple of shorts picked up from this site! Got to write on assignment a short for a German prodco...The Box, which is in post right now.

This is a GREAT place to show your work. There are always people watching! And looking!

A special thanks to Pia, who convinced me, that even if it's not my best work, throw it up on this site. She was right! People do look for scripts on this site!

Thanks to Pia and to Don

Congrats to all.

A UK production company was interested in my feature Dark Entrance. But they rejected it based on my synopsis. Their reader was a nice guy and explained to me why they rejected it.

My first comprehensible short, The Art of Persuasion, might get made this summer. I'm always surprised with people finding this short and wanting to make it. lol.

I am now close to finishing a rewrite of my abysmal feature Max's Traveling Carnival that's currently posted up here. Planning to submit the rewrite to a few contests and post it up here.

Thanks to Don and the other SS members (Pia, Phil, James, Greg, Mark Moore, Mark Lyons, and any others who review scripts...including Jeff) since without you guys, I would've been a normal turd. Now, I'm a polished turd.

It looks like I'll have my first ever produced short very soon. Like James, a student from New York wanted to produce "The Forgotten Christmas Tape" for his thesis project.  According to the casting call, it was shot over three days. The director emailed me several screenshots and it looks like they did a fantastic job. I can't wait to see the finished product!

I haven't done much at all lately. I've been going through phases of doubting myself and not writing anything. After much thought, I've decided I really want to try and have some sort of success.

I've submitted "Neighborhood Watch" to three different screenwriting competitions this year. I'm really happy with my final draft, so thanks to all the great people here who helped me and spent their time giving me some great feedback. I've never entered a competition before so I'm a little excited. Fingers crossed.

Hey Brian, I've been making a bit of noise in the producing department lately and getting some traction with a couple of things. Shoot me a PM about NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH and I'll take a look at the rewrite. I enjoyed it a lot the first time.

You'll have to change the title though. As you saw, the Will Ferrell movie had the same title and changed it due to the Trayvon Martin incident...

A British production company invited me to pitch Eric Boyle to them. They loved the idea, but chose to pass based on budgetary limitations on their behalf.

I'm still in contact with them, and have been invited to send them my next feature once I've finished that.

And we're also nearing the end of (a problem ridden) post-production phase of a little experimental short me and a crew of London-based filmmakers shot a little while ago (I co-wrote and directed that).

We're also currently attempting to secure some funding to shoot another short that I wrote sometime in the summer. I wish I was rich enough to fund these kind of things!

Awesome, Toby! You know I'm a huge fan of that script.

Congrats to everyone on their achievements. It's a great thread. I've always wondered what it was all about when I looked at it on MP.

As for me, I think I may have succeeded in getting another of my short screenplays stolen. I was looking through youtube and I found a trailer for a short film that looked pretty much identical to one of my screenplays 'Walk Away.' It's the same screenplay that was stolen a couple months back. Anyway, I've subscribed to the uploader and I'm waiting for him to post the final film before I pounce. For all I know, it could be a false alarm. I have no issue with people stealing my shorts (well, I do actually)... I just wish they wouldn't choose the one screenplay I regret writing more than anything in the world.

Additionally, I finished my first feature length alongside another SS member. I think we're still far away from getting anything out there, but so far things are looking good.

And the other day, I came up with my own idea for a feature, which doesn't seem too bad, except usually when I think of an idea, I drop it before I actually start writing it. I haven't dropped this one yet.

Great thread, Pia.

Congrats to all those out there getting scripts picked up from this site. I've always found more interest here than anywhere else.

I've got four shorts on option, three of which I don't ever expect to see the light of day. The only one I know I will see soon is So Dark, the follow up to So Pretty.

They went into fundraiser mode for FX financing, but I just reluctantly became an Associate Producer on that one because I kicked them some dough. Other than that, I don't have much hope for the others, but I've been wrong before.

Good luck everyone! Keep on writing and posting to this site.

James

About a month and a half ago, I got commissioned by a Canadian director to write a Fantasy short (those who know anything about my writing know Fantasy's not in my wheelhouse, but I'm giving it a whirl) and so far things seem to be progressing well.

Also, my short "12 Seconds" is apparently going into production around August. I use the term apparently because (as you'll see in my signature, although I haven't updated it in a few months) I've been getting offers for it since September 2009. In this current cycle, it's been in pre-production since June 2012. But, I still have faith.

Last on the agenda is "Andretta", which was the project I was looking for action scripts for. I'd like to send a big shoutout to Kevin Lenihan, Dena McKinnon, Brett Martin, James McClung, Jeff Bush, Mohammad Nawaz and Breanne Mattson for providing help, scripts, advice and reviews for me during that still-arduous task. I've completed nearly 30 pages so far and am moving along at a rather friendly clip. I'm hoping to have a rough draft done by the end of August and a solid first draft done by Halloween. I certainly wouldn't have gotten as far as I am without your help, so thank you.

A teaser trailer is supposedly on the horizon, which would be a big help as far as shopping it around to investors. We've got a lead and I believe a cinematographer but other than that, it hasn't quite left the launch pad just yet. Honestly, The Sick is the only one out of the features I've signed contracts for that isn't in some form of limbo. I think it'll see some action sooner or later though.

Thanks for the support. Got my eye out for Finders Keepers and Blackout.

I'm either putting out a legitimate Synch You Now E.S.P. notation or, on the weak hand,  it's poppycock and can be trashed; nevertheless, here goes:

I had a dream last night that I watched a movie of Pia's. It was not the notorious dark film as of history. I qualify that to say it was dark, but not dark in the same light-- if that makes sensel.

I don't remember a lot, but I remember BALLOON PEOPLE. (Please stop saying quit smoking it because I don't) Yes, mark that down-- Balloon People. I don't know what the Hell (WTH) it was all about, but it was striking and to me, these characters within the story were real and showing something more than their flimsy balloon bodies could ever tell. How to describe a Balloon Person? Carnival type. Transparent. Poppible.

If I were to qualify it in any way, I'd say, "Pia, if you are considering doing something outrageous and outside of you normal sphere. Maybe, this is it. I don't know. All I know is that the "imagined movie" apparently moved me. I had this awesome feeling.

It's either just a joke of a dream or I'm supposed to pass it along: If you're thinking of writing something outrageous: Maybe consider it more than passable and WRITE ON.

If this turns out to be helpful, please let me know via PM.

If something else crops up, ditto.

Sandra

As I said before over Skype, I think this is a great idea, Pia.

Jeez, where to begin?
I had tinkered around with rewriting a pro script in 2009 to learn story construction.
I joined here in September 2010.
Spent better part of a year learning coverage here. Made some nifty friends too.

In 2011, I attended pitch cons (PitchFest, InkTip & Sherwood Oaks).
Found out I have a knack for pitching, made contacts and got script requests.
And all that led to an internship with a prodco here in town.
Reads hundreds of more scripts for them while honing my craft.
That lead to a paying gig doing the same stuff.

In 2012, I got my first sale, Lie Detector.
Two prodcos joined forces to buy the property.
In the end, it didn't work out.
They were more interested in developing it into a feature than shooting the short.
Wanted me to spend years developing a feature for free. I don't think so.
Since I have first refusal rights, the project's essentially dead.
Unless they bring an offer to me to write a new draft.
Oh well, live and learn. Better on a short than a feature.

In 2013, I've got a prodco supporting Clone Wife.
The development of the script was smooth as glass. We're pretty sympatico.

Two and a half years after I joined the Simply Scripts...
I've got my feature on the desk of A-List talent and directors this week.
So, we'll see what the next chapter brings!

But this "story" wouldn't exist without Simply Scripts, thanks guys.

Regards,
Brett Martin

Nothing to plug for myself. I did once win a simplyscripts coffee mug! Well, actually I was the runner up, but the winner(Ryan Lee) already had a mug. I will say the coffee tastes great out of it, and I've brought the mug to visit some spooky places(Lizzy Borden's place, and the Shawsheen River made famous in the Salem Witch trials as the place where Satan baptized his minions).

I can plug some others though! Pia has some really cool stuff going on with a legit producer, so you should be seeing a lot of great things in the coming years. And I mean like in the next couple years, not some distant horizon.

Dena has some top secret cool stuff going on I am not allowed to discuss, but which came from posting here. Her IMDB will grow as fast as she writes scripts!

And I've read Jay's 2 scripts for the So Pretty/So Dark series, and seen one of the short films, and in the world of web series, that work really stands out. I can see that going somewhere, and that's more prediction than plug.

So pretty good progress for SS writers, the kind you can sink your teeth into.

Hey Pia, I was wondering if 'Finders Keepers' would make it on to Netflix?  If so I'll keep an eye out for it.

James, didn't you have a film called 'Abattoir' filmed a few years ago?

It's so good to see Simplyscripters doing well, it gives hope to us all.

I'm not one for self praise but I've had a few shorts filmed.
'My Fifteen Minutes was' filmed last year.  'An Original Idea' was shot a few years ago.  I've had three people ask to shoot 'Man Watcher' in recent months so I'm hopeful at least one will happen.  Someone asked to shoot 'Fight' but then disappeared so I'm not hopeful on that front.  I had a guy come close to shooting 'The Big Stiff' last year but alas he couldn't raise the funding and didn't want to cut the script down.  The elusive feature is still some way off I think though.  I had interest in 'Pub Lunch' a couple of years ago but it never happened.

Ha, considering I don't like self praise I've just waffled on a bit there. lol.

It seems members are getting their work picked up all the time here.  It's great news and a big thank you to Don for posting and the members for their helpful reviews.

It is online to pay services right now. In 90 days it will be in stores after that's done, it will be on Netflix and Hulu. The film is barely 1 hr. There's a lot of credits that run really slow....

I'm so shameless i'm going to use two threads to brag!

Anyway, my short script Inner Journey has had some success with;

-Third place in the Gimme Credit Competition (already posted)

-And has just become a Finalist in the American Gem Literary Festival which had just under a 1000 entries. I'll find out the result in the next four weeks.(Babz buzz 23)

Quite chuffed with that.

Following the Gimme Credit results, i obtained the script feedback offered with the entry and have hopefully improved the script. It is now entered - the last competition for this baby - into The Page Awards.

Heard from my Producer/Director today on the short -- The Box or Die Box that I wrote...below is some super good news! Also a link to the list of nominated films!!! A special thanks to the talented Sascha Zimmermann and a shout out to our wonderful agent, Babz for her help!

The Box got officially nominated for the Shocking Shorts Award 2013 today!

The Shocking Shorts Award is the most important Thriller/mystery Award in Germany! They got a few hundred entries and selected 10 short films which got nominated for the Award!

Within the next weeks a Jury decides which 3 films (of the 10) will make the finals. Of course only one film can win - BUT we are nominated and nobody can take that from us The Box will always be labeled Nominated for The Shock Shorts Award 2013.

The Award comes from "NBC Universal" and their tv channel "13th Street". They will Screen all 10 nominated films on their channel in june I guess.

Here is a link to the offically nominated films list:

I've been scouring Netflix for it so I can see it. Guess I have to wait.

How are your other projects coming along?

CONGRATULATIONS Janet!!!!!!

On the option and your imdb listing!!!!

I've always said SS and the writers here are the best! There are so many people from here having successes right now, I don't understand why more people don't consider SS the place to be!

Hey Shawn  -

I didn't pull my post... it's just on a separate thread...

Rendevous: shameless plugs?  I think I saw some of those at a little shop called "Eve's Garden" in the village the other day.  You know, it's a woman friendly boutique that caters to people who like good vibes...  They had these really neat uber realistic jelly ones...

Uh, I think I"ll shut up now...

I was going to type up a post in the "Getting to Know You" section, but I figure this place is as good as any to re-introduce myself into the fold.

My short film Penny For Your Thoughts was purchased because of Simply Scripts, and is set to begin production this month.  The film has actually been made a couple times before (once again, because of Simply Scripts), but I always maintained the rights.  It was made by students and not widely released.  The new director really seems to have a solid plan; hence why I sold her the rights.

I also optioned a feature of mine, Killing Daniel to a Canadian production company: Darius Films.  I never had a chance to put KD up on the boards (normally I do a query blast before looking for public critiques).  I'm very excited about KD's future.

And finally, while I was gone, I did one season of a web series: Let's Kill John Stamos!.  I had a lot of fun doing it, and I definitely think it's worth checking out:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L38B5qFU_LA&list=PL7592CD94AFBE1B5C

The first three episodes are pretty rough (IMO), because we were really trying to find our footing.  But I'm very proud of the rest of it.  I wish we could have done a Season 2, honestly.

Ok, shameless plugging over.

Well Janet is going into production in 45 days time so I've redecorated the website in preparation, the main cast are listed with pictures, the main crew is up and a lot of the extras are listed:

ALL ABOUT JANET OFFICIAL WEBSITE

We have a couple of rehearsals before production, one of which on the 31st May, our esteemed director will be coming from London to meet the entire team. We have quite a few more extras to put up too. One-eyed Baz, a famous guy in my city, will be a featured extra as head doorman at the club, as well as some other friends etc that want to be in a film. The more the merrier for the club scene.

Looks like a LOT of people have things cooking these days! That's AWESOME!!!

Congrats on the A Penny For Your Thoughts script! I've had some scripts been produced more than once too. It's a lot of fun to see the different filmmakers take on the script. Good Luck with it and awesomeness on the option of the feature too! Also, very cool with the web series! You've been busy! Good to have you back!

I bet you're excited Dustin! I'd like to make films too, but I don't really have anyone to work with where I live.

Scream For Me finished shooting in April. Michael Pare' is in it in a small role. It's a crazy horror and won't be for everyone.

Here is a link to the offically nominated films list:

http://www.13thstreet.de/blog/.....uschauer-eine-stimme

Well done, Dena. Win or lose it is an achievement. Success, either way, is surely only around the corner.

In accordance with this thread's aims....

My script The Ultimate Weapon has made the quarter finals of Fresh Voices. It crashed out of Shore scripts in the quarters, so time will tell whether the revised version moves on.

Anyone else in there?

Cheers

Thanks all.

FV is a mid sized comp, around 1500 entries, with various categories.

http://www.fresh-voices.com/

Mine is just a short, an old OWC entry. I don't seem focused enough to complete a  feature, although trying to plot one out at the moment.

Awesome about "Ultimate Weapon", Bill! You're one of the final 11 in the shorts category! That right there is excellent!! Sending lots of positive vibes your way for the next round....

And thanks for the well wishes on BlueCat. Rod Thompson is still hanging with me. Anyone else still in? And it's only the Quarter Finals, even though it's the top 5% of 4500. Weird, right? I don't list Quarters on my resume anymore so that sorta stinks cus 5% of 4500 sounds pretty impressive. To me anyway.

Marnie... in regards to your resume. It's fine to embellish things a little. With the QF scripts, it's perfectly fine to simply call them 'finalists'. At least, that's what I'd do. Nobody really cares anyway.

I guess it depends on what you're after. If you're really just looking to get your screenplay produced, you're right. Who cares. But I'm more interested in writing gigs than getting my work produced, so I think it might be beneficial for me to have some higher placings in the bigger contests. It's a long shot though. We've all discussed how subjective the contest route is. I'm probably better off playing the lottery.

I mean that nobody cares exactly how highly your scripts placed (unless they were outright winners), merely mentioning 'finalists' should be enough for them to know you're a writer they can take seriously.

Also, you should consider being more interested in seeing your work produced as that will open up writing gigs. I'm in the process of giving a feature away on a free option just to enhance my credibility.

Pleased to say The Ultimate Weapon is now in the finals at Fresh Voices, top six.

It's not the biggest competition out there, probably what you would consider to be a second tier contest, but hell it's a still a global offering so nice to be there.

Fingers crossed.

For those who don't know, this originated from a One Week Challenge (OWC) script here st SS.

cheers

Shameless plugs ?

Great.

I put out a novel, the link is in my sig. A backer paid for the account and some advertising, got some great reviews from other Shanghai based authors, ended up selling a few hundred copies, although we charge only 3 bucks for the Kindle Version on amazon.

While we're being shameless, that's what I was supposed to do after I left Drama school, had an agent and everything ... then went travelling to get experience ... still out here 15 years later.

Congratulations Bill! Great stuff.

While I'm here just a quick mention.. My short "Anything For Love" was re-written, by myself, as a feature and a director I've been in contact with will be filming that later in the year.

Also, the same the director is shooting a Sci fi Web series and got me on board as a writer for that. The pilot is in production as we speak.

Looking forward to it all..

Sounds great, good luck with those. Any spoilers on what the webseries is about? The concept of a sci-fi webseries sounds interesting.

And best of luck on the finals, Reef!

Thank you all. I'm very excited to see how it all pans out.

Sure DS, it's about aliens that come to earth, programming humans to use as slaves basically so they can take over the planet.

It follows 5 people that escaped during the programming stage as they try to bring down the alien organisation.

Second place for The Ultimate Weapon at fresh voices.

Close, but no cigar - still happy with that though.

Just found out my short script: Simpatico is a Finalist in the LA Comedy Festival.

Congratulations. We had a record number of scripts and it was very competitive, but your script rose to the top.

I'm thrilled, even if it doesn't win!

If anyone wants tickets to the festival in LA - Let Live Theatre, on May 2, to attend any screening, show or party, two tickets, I can advise (give names) by 30 April and you can go in my place. Let me know if anyone wants them.

Good news is Johnny and Tim are taking me up on the tickets too, and will no doubt be doing a bit of schmoozing at the festival.

Can't really say too much as not much has been made public, but a feature film I wrote "The Suicide Theory" -- work-shopped here in 2008 -- was recently picked up for distribution by Freestyle Releasing ("Cake" starring Jennifer Aniston, "The Illusionist" w/ Edward Norton & Paul Giamatti, "The Collector", "Green Street Hooligans", "An American Haunting", etc.)

The feature will be released on July 10th, limited theaters. Not sure about DVD and VOD stuff, but when I learn more, I'll keep everyone posted.

A little background on the film... it premiered at TCL Chinese Theaters on Hollywood Boulevard as part of the Dances With Films Festival. We ended up winning the Grand Jury Prize for best picture. We also won an Audience Award at Austin Film Festival and a few more awards at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival. We were also voted Best Aussie Film of 2014 by the movie buffs at Fakeshemp.net (I am from NYC but the picture was produced in Australia).

The reviews of the film have been very good so far. Thanks to all who helped me with earlier drafts way back when!

That is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell us which theaters it will play in? I've been waiting for years to be able to go see an SS member's film in a theater with popcorn, twizzlers, nachos, sour patch kids....

I haven't been to the movies since I saw Gravity. But, I would definitely go if I knew who the writer is. Totally awesome!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Pia. Not really sure yet, but I'll keep everyone posted! I suspect bigger cities, but we'll see. The producers have been very hush about it, haven't really told me much. Guess they're waiting for a press release. I was told about as much as was published on Rotten Tomatoes, Box Office Mojo and IMDB.

Not sure yet, Jeremiah. All I know is the release date and that it will have a limited theatrical release. We'll see.

I think JohnnyONuts saw the film at TCL Chinese Theaters when it premiered in LA, not sure if he stuck around for the Q and A after, though. But that was a hell of venue, one of the most famous theaters in the world. And the screen was GINORMOUS. Really cool. I was fortunate enough to see it twice with an audience (once in LA and once in Austin, Texas at Alamo Drafthouse). Great reaction both times.

Dang, I might be the only one who's seen it. The Suicide Theory is a great film, brought back that feeling of going to film festivals before I thought about writing. The audience reception was killer, a testament to Michael's script. It definitely has his signature WTF moments.

The dynamic of the characters is surprisingly lighthearted at times given the dark subject of the plot. I highly recommend seeing it.

I'd really like to see your Dead Man In The Trunk short film too - I watched the trailer. Is it available anywhere? I really enjoyed reading that script. All the best to you Michael.

Feature film I wrote "The Suicide Theory", workshopped here on SS back in 2008, has officially been given an "R" rating by the MPAA for strong violence, language and some sexual content.

http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/d.....aa-ratings-bulletin/

The movie hits theaters July 10, 2015. I know it's still over a month away, but come out and see it if it's playing at a theater near you!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2517300/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

I'm sure a new trailer will be out soon, but here's a teaser trailer for the film from last year during it's film festival run (Dances With Films, Hollywood -- Grand Jury Prize, Austin Film Festival -- Audience Award, Dark Matters Category, Melbourne Underground Film Festival -- Special Jury Prize).

Aw, shucks, thanks Pia. Will be a limited release, but that would be cool to see it do well and maybe get a wider release. Either way, it's pretty damn cool.

Not sure if this is the official poster or not, but I hope it is.

Limited is still in theaters!!! The closest any of my films will come to that is me renting a local theater, bringing the DVD and sweet talk the manager into not cutting the time short.

I have a thriller going into production in August. Michael Pare' plays the lead. They are trying to find a name actor to play opposite. If it turns out good, I will rent that theater...

I'm thinking about going out there to visit the set. That should be fun!

Wow, I noticed that I recognize a lot of the names of the actors in your films. I had the privilege to see the film twice in theaters with an audience, both of them film festival experiences (Dances With Films in LA and Austin Film Festival award winner series in Austin, Texas).

If any of your productions do a film fest run, I highly recommend Dances With Films... they screen your film at one of the most famous theaters in the world, TCL Chinese Theaters on Hollywood Boulevard. The screen was massive! Definitely one of the highlights of my life, a great experience.

I would love to bring my film to Sunshine Cinemas in Manhattan (one of my favorite movie theaters ever... they show midnight films, a lot of them crowd participation, really fun) but I don't think the distribution company would allow it... but then again, I'm not savvy with things like that.

I still have never been on a movie set... not just my films, but no movie sets EVER. You should definitely visit the set!

It's still making it's film festival rounds... did quite a few film fests... I was fortunate enough to see that one with an audience, was very cool, great response. Next up is the Sasquan International Film Fest in Spokane, Washington.

As far as details concerning seeing the actual film, inbox me... I vaguely remember you commenting on that short script when it was posted here a few years back...

Posted about this on Facebook and Instagram, but sharing for everyone else. Two short films I wrote were accepted into the same film festival (Fright Night Theatre 2015). The directors don't know each other and had no idea the other was submitting their film. One of the directors tells me 26 short films were accepted in all, and it's pretty cool to think two of them are mine.

I'm in pre-production of a short I've written called Surrender. A version of the script is on this website but it's an old one, we've gone much darker and into Jacob's Ladder territory on the latest draft.

I'll be producing this with the guys I made No More Tomorrows with. Technically this is much more challenging than NMT but we are going to give it a go. If all goes well, we'll be shooting in NYC soon.

I've also had some good news today, a short comedy/horror script I wrote is in the finals of the Eerie Horror Film Festival.
