The original 'Release the Kraken!'

Just be grateful for CGI.

I preferred the Sinbad skeletons, but here's no denying his input to cinema.

Nobody did it like, Mister Harryhausen.
He NEVER called his creations, "monsters".

To him, they were always, "creatures".
Beasts with agendas based in legit animal behavior.
Of course, his creatures could behave quite monstrously as well.
Even his dad helped him early on, with skeletal structures, etc.

It's something my partner's dad carried close to his heart.
He used that same spirit of the craft in everything he did too...
From Star Wars all the way through Alien 3 before he passed away.

So, Ray has a special place in my family.
And always will.

Keep creating, wherever you are, good sir.

Regards,
E.D.

P.S. A fun documentary about Ray came out not too long ago.

I know I'm late to this party...  But - Harry, RIP, and safe journey!  A few people on this board may know that my first aspirations in film were SFX.  And Harry - well, he was a classic that blazed so many trails.  Now, all I have left are Rick Baker and Stan Winston.

Harry - we'll miss you!
