I hate Nolan copycats. It seems like the current trend in Hollywood is to take an old story and make a "gritty reboot" of it. It's not just superheroes. I mean, what's next, "The Magic School Bus visits Hell"?

I didn't care for the Spider-Man reboot at all. It had a great cast, but it was too long and really predictable. Too many things were ripped right from Raimi's film. But I wouldn't necessarily call it "gritty".

Is it good news that Ben Affleck has been confirmed as Batman?

Lets just say I've started a grocery list:

100 cases of bottled water
2000 packs of ramen noodles
A gas mask
2 Swiss Army knives
Flint
A few porno mags

His last superhero foray obviously didn't fair well. But he's grown as an actor, director, and as a person since then (not crazy about him in PEARL HARBOR and ARMAGEDDON, but he was great in HOLLYWOODLAND, THE TOWN, and ARGO--and he did an amazing job directing those latter three).

So if we get the early Ben, it could be disastrous. If we get the more recent, more creative, more mature Ben, it could be a classic, depending on the story.
