Eoin,

Thanks for the link.  I've always been reluctant to post any of my work onThe Black List for various reasons, but I might have to re-consider... maybe.

Question.

In order to be a member, do I have to post my script immediately upon signing up?

You sign up by putting a script up.  And then paying their readers to review it.

You pay once for each reader, though readers could eventually read your script for free if they are interested in it (word of mouth praise or a catchy logline, I guess).

Is it a requirement that you always have to find a reader and pay him to read it (in order to remain a member)?

Or do you just wait for somebody to come along, ask to read your stuff, then pay them?

Sorry for the endless questions, Phil.  Hope I'm not being a nuisance.

So they're looking for people of minorities, women, and old people. Fantastic.

I might just do like Bart & Lisa in "The Front" and sign one of my parents' names to a script and send it in.

"I remember a time of chaos. Ruined dreams. This wasted land. But most of all, I remember The Road Warrior. The man we called 'Max'."

THE PINBALL WARRIOR (scifi, WIP, ~30 pg.)
A STAND AGAINST EVIL (short, 9 pg.)

In order to get on any lists, you need atleast two reads with favorable scores.  If you don't pay for them, you'll have to wait for readers to pick you up.

Quoted Text
Leonard said the program will target “primarily writers of color and women, but also older writers as well, with pre and early baby boomers falling into that category.

I'm sorry but i'm really confused... Since when has writing a great script got to do with your color, sex, or age?

I thought producers were after great screenplays by anybody and not just the ones wrote by white middle-aged men.

It's like you see into my brain.

Must be the Irish connection.
