An OWC with only PISSERS

Halloween pissers to be precise.

Jeff and a pumpkin in "DREAMSCALE 2"
One man's dream is another inanimate objects nightmare.

Jeff wakes up, in a wheel chair, only to discover he is imprisoned in a giant pumpkin with no one to carve out his escape.  It's a chilling tale of one man's struggle to seek out the truth...even if he has to read through a stack of pissers, every last word, to find it.

Rated PG.

Writing a horror (ironically) scares the hell out of me because I can't do it. Suspense and thriller-type horrors are a much better way to go. Just my $1.02.

All I know is that the last time I entered into a horror-based OWC, it ended up as a time travel, zombie, haunted house slasher with Celtic and gothic-ish horror elements and was a complete disaster. I'd prefer to not have to go there again.

Jeff's St Louis Rams have to score against a field of giant pumpkins or else the world supply of Jagie disappears.

After their effort against the Niners today, Jeff will be switching to vodka....

Quoted from Pale Yellow

This site has a wealth of pro/produced scripts...if you do not like amateur or unproduced scripts, maybe you should go read some pro scripts.

I know that, but I pretty much read everything SS has to offer with the produced section, partly for entertainment and partly for educational purposes.  Some were just not good at all and barely held my interest.  There may be a couple of scripts that I would like to read, but they aren't online.  I'd probably have to ask around for 'em.

Quoted from Pale Yellow

We are all learning here...do you have any good ones we could read?

Haha, not yet.  However, years ago I did have a feature on here that received quite the amount of positive reviews but I've since had Don delete the thread -- currently re-working that script right now.  When I feel it's ready, maybe I'll post it.

Quoted from Pale Yellow

Also there are amateurs who've posted here and been optioned from here...and even produced from here. Winning shorts have made it to film out of here. So I do not mind reading in here. I read my share of pro scripts also. We all do.

I'm not trying to get into an argument with anybody.  This part of your post sounds like you're getting kinda mad. haha

Don't get me wrong.  I like (and love) some of the writers here and the scripts that they have posted.  Bert and Michael being my favorites.  Phil's good too, even if his material isn't my cup of tea.  Crookedowl, Dreamscale, Niles Crane (who's no longer here), Breanne (who I'm now a fan of), etc.  I'm not saying the board's members are sucky.  It's mostly the random submissions from people (and there are a lot of these) who never, ever pop up on here as a member.  I just wish there was a decent submission, maybe once a week.  Instead, it's more like a clusterfuck of shit, and I never get past the first page.  I'm tired of that.  I've been coming to this place, on and off, for years, and it's always been like that.  I'm getting to the point where I've almost read everything on here and I'm just waiting for something new to blow me away.

Copied from The Prisoner thread.

Seems to be a bit of a buzz about this ... Anyone seen it? It was BlueCat Finalist a few years ago:

http://www.bluecatscreenplay.com/blog/2005-bluecat-finalist-aaron-guzikowskis-prisoners/

Script's at:

Would anyone be interested in a Script Club about this script? Could be interesting to have a discussion about an amateur script that was made into a film while waiting to hear from Don about an OWC. Thoughts.

I'd like to too but I'm pretty hyped for the film so I'm not sure if I'd like to ruin it by reading the script, although I did hear they messed around with the third act in the shooting draft.

I'm with you on this, although I think I'll be seeing the film sometime this week.

Yeah, I heard that as well. In that case, it might make sense if we wait a week, or so, until people have seen the film, so that we can also discuss our thoughts on the changes made to the shooting script?

I'm down if indeed there's going to be an official Script Club. I haven't seen a single clip from the film so I've got no issues with spoilers. It'd be interesting to see how it translates to film without any preconceptions.

I'd like to be a part! What do I do now? Read the script? Or we are supposed to read it together - kind of first 30 pages, then discuss...?

Okay, sounds like a few people are interested. I'd say, let's do it! The only thing we need is someone to sort of run it. I've done it in the past, but I wasn't very good at it. All it really needs is someone to keep the discussion focused and to keep it going. As far as I remember, SC has never descended into anything out of control. It's more about keeping a good discussion going about story, characters and so on.

If anyone is up for it, I'll definitely take part. It will be the first script I've read in quite awhile.

Khamana, if we do this, a special thread will be created for it and then it will be locked for a week to give people a chance to read.
