Although we may never know for sure, I feel it's a little short sighted to think in a universe which would appear to have infinite possibilities, our planet has the only forms of life.
I believe there's a much bigger chance of there being alien life somewhere out there than there is a god/s, but that's probably a different debate altogether.
Mathematics tells us that there are more galaxies in the universe than grains of sand in on a beach.
Mathematics also tells us that the nearest galaxy is approx 12 million light years away.
So even if there was intelligent in the nearest galaxy, travelling at a space ship as close to the speed of light as possible, it would take more than 12 million years for 'aliens' to get here.
All our concepts of 'UFO's' and 'abductions' are the product of the human mind trying to rationalize phenomena that it does not understand or comprehend. Only a human mind would come up with the concept of beings travelling in vessels, as this is our method of transport. For interstellar transport, that just wouldn't and couldn't work.
Most UFO sightings are nothing more than top secret military aircraft tests, which governments happily allow to be though of as UFOs to cover up any attention being drawn to them.
So, yes, it's probable that there is intelligent life, in some form, out there. It's highly unlikely that we will ever get to see it, but who knows. Like the stars in the sky, they may well have burned out, as we are seeing their light from the past.
Genesis also says that the moon is a light source.
And that the sun revolves around the Earth (the center of the universe).

Next you'll be telling me that Methuselah didn't live for 969 years and that a rainbow is just sunlight refracted through droplets of water.
The Bible is a book, and books don't lie.
Seriously though, Eoin has a good point about the distances aliens would have to cover in order to reach our planet. Even if they came from the closest solar system to our own, they'd still have to travel 4.37 light years.
They would have to have some unfathomable technology in order to travel that far, and if they did have the necessary technology, what are they doing abducting drunk rednecks from their double wide in lower Alabama?

Not if they use the Mass Relays, they wouldn't... =)
