This may drive you nuts once I point it out…

I think I have found the absolute most overused word in the English language today.

It’s EVERYWHERE!!!

I mean everywhere. It’s in movies, shows, reality T.V., commercials, imfomercials, shite, you name it.

YOU JUST CAN’T EXCAPE THIS WORD!!!

The word is…

AMAZING—

That product is amazing. The results were amazing. I can’t believe how amazing that looks.

On and on and on…

I watched a home improvement show the other night and that F&cking word was used 19 times in a 30 minute show.

You’re gonna hate that I mentioned this because once you know, you will here it everywhere on T.V., the radio, in the movies….everywhere.

I can’t count how many times I hear this word used on a daily basis now.

Just listen, you will hear it as well.

Who else has picked up on an overused word?

Shawn.....><

Amazing post, Shawn.

For me, it's not an overused word, but a phrase:  "At the end of the day."  I've heard people use it ten times in a single conversation.

Ha!

How about "reached out"

We reached out to the customer ysterday and...

The Tea Party reached out to...

I want to hit someone when I hear them say it

Here lets combine them...

At the end of the day, we reached out to Jeff.

'Overused' is the most over-fucking-used word bro!  LOL!

Seriously though, I hate the phrase 'moving forward'. Means nothing but people in the media think it sounds good. It is shit!

I agree with Ryan, at the moment..."at the end of the day" seems to be the go to phrase, especially in sports. It seems to have replaced "it is what it is", which Bill Belichick seemed to help take off.

Older ones: "when all is said and done", "when it comes down to it", "the bottom line".

Maybe we should try to make up our own, see if we can make it go viral.

'You know what I mean' is a very overused term too, at least over here, and I hate it as sometimes I don't know what they mean.

I'm sick of "partisan" and "bipartisan" this and that.

You mean like...

For someone who works and plays hard all their life can be--

"Going out worn out"

Overrated is a huge one I see when it comes to film, music and TV discussions.

A bad writer, trying to become decent...

Thank you for all who put up with my work and try and help me improve.

Practice will hopefully pay off for my writing.

"Think outside the box."  "Throw you under the bus."  "Can't wrap my mind around it."  "Our thoughts and prayers go out..."  "Basically..."

This might be a good subject for the owc.  A witch casts a spell on a guy who can only talk in cliches.

Another overused phrase lately is:

SCHAUB! PICKED OFF!

'Oh my god, Jeff honey! The Packers have beaten the Niners! Best you shag me now!'
