Has anyone worked with the FD app and an iPad? My laptop is getting old, and I'm wondering if this could work as a solution. Mind you, i don't own an Ipad.. I'd have to buy the whole package, and probably a clam case keyboard. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Don't get rid of your FD, because you will have to transfer the file to clean it up, it can get buggy.
I have the keyboard, but I never use it. It's easier to punch it in yourself.
Yeah I had that prob with the Celtx app. Great interface, no prob writing on it. But it used to some times have the char name for dialogue at the bottom of the page and the actual dialogue on the next page!
I've gone back to writing by hand with a pen and the old notebook. Then I copy to the Sophocles software I have on the computer. Works for me, lol
Ok, so I got the iPad Mini with Bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard works fine, but it is a bit more set up when I just want to dig in and write something. I love it for many reasons. I can write anywhere - trains, plane, and automobiles. Also, it's nice because it displays like an actual PDF script page, so it's easier to visualize what the end product will look like.
It has a very small learning curve, but even that was a breeze. It is more line to line formatting, and it's easier to put things where you want them to go. Underlining, centering, etc. Considering it is a touch screen, I've find myself not using the keyboard as often but only when I feel like hearing the clicks.
The Dropbox, email, and PDF options are great. Very easy to transfer or just hub your stuff. I find myself going back and forth with my iPad and my computer, but it's still a great tool IMO.
So the bugs are noticable, but I can live with them. One is trying to bring the page up. You'll have this lingering page and you'll try to get rid of it, but it crashes every time you get to the last page. Another one is every so often, I'll try to transfer a pdx to the iPad and the file will be corrupt. I can even load the app, so I have to delete it from iTunes and reload it. Every so often, the cursor gets stuck on dialogue and won't move unless I touch another area of the doc, and then place it somewhere else. I'm sure there are more I haven't discovered but they are minor compotes to the pros of this.
There are many other things writing-wise I use my iPad for, mainly to read scripts. They look so much better on it than a full computer screen. If you got any more questions let me know.
