It’s my prayer that Phil heals soon and gets over this to become whole again.
It’s also my prayer that Janet holds fast and knows her husband will be fine. In these times, it can sometimes be just as hard on the spouse if not harder.
Compounded by Phil’s illness is the fact that this week’s review was not what they hoped for. Regardless of that outcome, I hope that Phil and Janet understand that everything is for a reason.
How dreadful to hear, and yes, it can be serious -- but Phil is a tough ol' bugger, too.
As much as one can have "friends" over the internet, Phil & Janet certainly qualify, having earned my affections and respect over the course of several years.
Nothing but the best wishes to both of them, and please do keep us posted should you hear anything.
Oh boy! That doesn't sound good. I know a person who had it in the past and doing fine, so... Good luck to Phil and Janet! Stay strong!! And I don't know what else to say but will be thinking of you two.
Thanks for all the good wishes and thoughts. Phil is conscious now, and making occasional cranky jokes. So that's always a good sign. But it did happen pretty quickly, and pretty nasty, too...
For all you Breaking Bad fans: I told Phil that when the medical bills start coming in on this one, he's going to have to shave his head and start making meth...

Get well soon. Take this time to relax or...start writing. It worked for Stephen King.

...what Phil is NOT mentioning is that they just (a few minutes ago) diagnosed him with pneumonia ON TOP of the Meningitis. I think someone up there really, really, really has it out for him!
All joking aside, he's looking a little better - despite the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. The red eye is fading, finally, as well...

Best of luck to the two of you. Glad to know that surgery went well. And Phil is back to reviewing? - that's crazy))
I'm slowly coming back to reviewing. I don't feel up to writing just yet. Baby steps, I suppose.
Fortunately, the meds they're giving me for the meningitis are the same ones they would treat the pneumonia with. They're pumping me with so much antibiotics that I think I'm gaining weight from them.
I just got the flowers. Not 100% sure of the "culprit", because the card was just signed "from the gang at Simplyscripts." But - regardless, they're beautiful, and thank you all.
I'm sitting in the dining room with the laptop. Rayne (our German Shepherd, who misses his dad) is lying at my feet, against one of Phil's Beer Carboys.
And the flowers are on the table, the perfect extra touch.
Thanks!! BTW - we're hearing that Phil's over the hump. They'll probably release him from the hospital Sunday.
I'm expected to be let out in about four hours. After that I have to catch up on ten days of my dog jumping all over me and never leaving my side. Tomorrow, I return to work.
Half days aren't really possible as I'm the only employee in the shop. Fortunately, Tuesdays are traditionally slow days so I won't be too stressed out.
