The "Screenwriter guru" as he was known, passed away today. He penned a few screenwriting books and helped the careers of others... John Singleton, Kevin Williamson

My condolences to his family

Mark

Wow, that's too bad. His work was masterful, and unlike many other gurus, it was not rigid or preachy or insistent. He looked for patterns in film, but was flexible and understood there were limitless ways to make a story work. I certainly found his work helpful and enjoyable, and many writers will continue to be helped by him for many years to come. He is definitely a legend and will be missed.

A great lost to the screenwriting world. Field, Vogler and Seger were my favorites screenwriting gurus. My sincere condolences to his family.

Please, let there NOT be any zombies or Michael Bay involved.

Maybe Shane Carruth could put something... "intellectual" together.
