I suppose this is a good place to start... Return to SS Finish at least one short script every two months (easy I know). Finish my first feature. I've started too many, but never actually finished one. Place in a script competition for short scripts. Dan |

Finish my next feature. Get back into the swing of writing. Write better scripts (or at least ones that don't suck). Live happier, healthier, and more productive.
I know new year's resolutions are sort of cliche and people don't always make them happen but I'm seriously aiming to enter 2014 like a snake shedding its skin. |

Good luck to ya. I just submitted my feature to Script Pipeline last night.

Ah, Jimmy, too hard on yourself, dude. I was actually meaning to ask ya, would you mind sending me Left Hand Paths and that Black Market script of yours (bold)? I been rifling through the forum for anything (found your scripts in the "what you have posted on SS" thread) and those 2 caught my attention. I know I wasn't a big fan of some of your stuff, but I want to give those 2 a read... if you don't mind. --Steve |

Finish the features I have started. Improve my writing. By some miracle, rack up some credits on imdb. Lose weight. Love more. Live more. Give more. |

I'm going to try to make a serious effort to write more. (Probably what most writers say.)
2013 is the first year since I started writing that I didn't finish a feature and I feel kinda bad about that.
Gonna try to do 6 pages a day, since that's about the amount I can knock out in an hour. |

There are two sides to the addiction. One is psychological, the other is physical. Took me a month to beat the psychological (by wearing nicotine patches), and three days for the physical. Those three days are pretty hard, almost painful at times... but worth it. So much healthier now. I smoked (properly) for twenty years. Always said I'd give up at 30, but I carried on till 35. |

To not start developing a new feature until I have finished the one I am currently working on... ideas aren't my problem. Having the patience and motivation to keep working on them until that final 'FADE OUT' is committed to the page is. |

To become active again on SS. Finish rewriting my two features. Write more comprehensible features and shorts. And that's it so far. Happy New Year to all...since I won't be on when the clock hits 1200. lol. |

Finish my first feature and get around to writing more short stories. I'm tired at looking at the same crap day in and day out that I wrote months ago. I need to get motivated and just do it. |

2014 New Year's Resolution Tracker:
Silverback: Quit smoking (staying on the wagon). Mr. Blonde: Finish three new non-shorts (0-3). DanBotha: Return to SimplyScripts/Finish 6 shorts (0-6)/Finish a feature (0-1)/Place in a shorts competition (0-1). James McClung: Finish a new feature (0-1)/Improve writing/Happy/Healthy/Productive. Stevie: Not open E-mails from Jeff with photos attached (good luck). Pale Yellow: Finish uncompleted features/Improve writing/Get IMDb credit(s) (0-1)/Lose/Live/Love/Give. Crookedowl: Write more (6 pages a day). DustinBowcott: Make a short film (0-1). StevenClark: Live up to personal and professional potential. Toby_E: Finish current feature/Stop procrastinating. Mr. Ripley: Return to SimplyScripts/Finish two rewrites (0-2)/Write a little less Lynchian. DV44: Finish a feature (0-1)/Write more shorts/Get motivated.
Here it is, guys. Plain and simple. This is what we're all (currently) looking forward to in 2014. There's still plenty of people to make some resolutions. But, I think if you succeed in one of your resolutions, you should post up here again. Reward yourself for all the effort you made to turn a wish into reality. =)
I would be happy to update this post to acknowledge your guys' success, if you'd like, whether you write that feature or rewrite those shorts. Win that competition or become #1 on IMDb. Wishing you all the best in 2014. =) |

My resolutions: Write less, abandon my features, and learn to knit ugly sweaters.
Hopefully I fail at keeping these resolutions like all those of yesteryear.

My back is feeling much better lately, so this kid will be hitting the gym again on a regular basis, starting 1/2/14.
In a few weeks, the pics I send Stevie will be more tolerable, hopefully.
I also need to smoke less, but not quit. Maybe even drink less, but of course, not quit.
Maybe, I'll even consider writing a new feature, as I have 3 in the works that never really got started, as I never gave them a chance.
When I do get back in shape, maybe I'll shave my back and glue those hairs onto my head.
Happy, joyous, blessed, and of course safe New Years wishes to all at SS! |

Calm down the smoking and drinking. I'm not gonna see 2015 at this rate. I have to see Liverpool win the league. I'll die happy if that happens.
Writing wise, concentrate on one thing at a time instead of five, and lessen my expectations and adjust my writing accordingly. To write atleast another four or five features and have them done by end of year, just not do them at the same damn time.
Not sure that makes much sense, can't wait for the hangover. Think death might be less painful. It's gonna be brutal. Can't wait.

Make that 'big sale' on one of my feature's - we really need a bigger house, which follows the screenplay resolution (3 beds 4 kids 1 lounge and 1 toilet is killing me!) Happy New Year Everyone!! |
Add two large dogs and that sounds exactly like my house. Good luck. |

Quoted from DustinBowcot Make my first short film. |
Done. In fact, I'll have made two before the end of the year and well on the way to making our third with a very high profile martial artist. Just found out I'm going to be working with some quite big UK stars (to me anyway) in Neil Maskell, Neil Stuke and Danniella Westbrook with a feature next year. This year has been great so far, but next year is going to be huge. |

Care to mention the martial artist in a PM. I follow combat sports closely and I use to watch a lot of martial arts movies. So chances are I'll know who it is. I'm interested. |

Silvio Simac. He's already verbally agreed after we met him in person at his gym in London, so I don't mind mentioning his name. We're going to be promoting this one hard soon.
We were supposed to be making it next, but it's going to take some cash to pull off properly, and we want to wait until we've had some kudos back from our first film. So we're making another in between (Smackhead) while we wait. |

^ Awesome. I didn't know him by name but IMDb informs me I've seen him in seven features. If it's him in the fight I'm thinking of in Undisputed 2, taking a beating from Adkins, that was a pretty friggin' solid sequence. |

I've watched that fight lots of times. Silvio actually took a real hit to the face when Adkins does that somersault kick. They kept it in which is why it looks so great. He's also been beaten up by Jet Li and Jason Statham, as well as starred in lots of Chinese martial arts films that we'll never see here. Silvio puts me in mind of Van Damme and Jackie Chan, raw power, suppleness and uses the environment intelligently. I can't wait to work with him. Hopefully it will lead to a feature too, who knows. |

I've actually heard of him. I looked him up few years ago. I was interested to see who was the actor that fought Jet Li in Danny the Dog. Good luck with the project. |
