Died today, 71 years old. I think he lived a full life and even though he was basically retired from the biz, he was still a heavy to me.

Absolutely loved him in Long Good Friday.

Sad news -- certainly before his time.  The Long Good Friday was a big influence on me -- he was such a presence in that film.  That final car ride sticks in the mind till this day.

RIP.

I think everyone who has seen The Long Good Friday will forever remember that scene. I know I do.

Really sad news. I remember when my mum was away one weekend and my dad let me watch The Long Good Friday with him. Been a huge fan of his ever since then. RIP.

One of those actors I will miss.

I haven't seen the long Good Friday - just clips - but will try one day.

RIP Bob.

I see many mentioning TLGF. A fine piece of work. As was he. Sadly missed.
