There is a real dynamism to the dying character, though I think a dark cover would be better.
I agree. The problem I have with the "dying character" one, is that the composition of the cover isn't good. Huge text, image, huge text again. It doesn't look good as a composition. The dark one looks more like a book cover. It fits better. IMO.
Cast my vote too, and commented on all. Apparently I selected one of the favs - do have to say though Alex it looks to me a little 'Mummy' inspired.
Also it seems my real fav was one of the discarded picks - number 10. It may be a little generic but I like the blue/black tones and it definitely looks like it might be a scary read to me.
One more comment - I don't like the definition underneath the title. I don't feel you should be giving a 'this word means this' directive. Let the reader find out for themselves - it's a teaser in itself if the potential reader is ignorant of the word.
93 and 23 are both my favourites and I am swaying more towards 93 ATM though have an amended copy submitted with a few improvements since my post for votes.
Self publishing is much easier than you think though you need to do all the work yourself, like getting the artwork done, putting it all together and marketing it.
I have a background in Engineering and also used to run my own marketing business so it's a cakewalk for me. Also Amazon self publishing give the author 70% of sales, and even at a low price per sale, the return is much better than through a publisher.
It's not all about the money though, I feel if I get the novel out there then I may one day get a call from a prominent producer with an offer for the screenplay. "WE ALL LIVE IN HOPE"
Thanks for all your feedback and I'll post a like to the book in the new year.
Marketing takes money. So long as you have plenty of that (which the publishing houses do), you'll do fine. John Grisham did it and a few others have too. Good luck.

Thanks Dustin, As I said I know the marketing industry well and will promote it through many contacts that I have including radio, television etc all at a cost-free rate.
I also have editor contacts in magazines and may look at a write-up.
It's all about who you know these days.
I will also use the internet pipelines to channel the message so hopefully the word will get around.
Nothing ventured nothing gained !!!!
Alex
PS I used to do PR work for television and Radio stations.
