It's a sad day for music.   Joe Cocker, famous for his immortal and iconic rendition of The Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends," has died from lung cancer. He was 70.

This version of the song was immortalized in the Woodstock concert and documentary, and reached younger generations (such as mine) as the theme from The Wonder Years.

Other hits include "The Letter," "Feeling Alright," "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," "You Are So Beautiful," and his biggest hit... "Up Where We Belong."

Yes. Leave Your Hat On is a fine tune. Difficult to think of it these days without hearing the Tom Jones version and getting a mental picture of Carlyle and Wilkinson sans trousers. Still, fine tune.

I always did like a bit of Cocker. Steady.

Hard to believe he was only seventy. I thought he looked at least that old twenty years ago. Hmm, I probably need glasses.

This song always sent a shiver or two down my perfectly formed neck...

Sad day, was a fan of Joe.

Not a lot of things make me laugh but this joke always has. It always come to mind when I hear his name.
