Just went over the list and there are quite a few SS members who made the cut. Including Jeff Bush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Congrats dude!!!

A link to the list.  http://pageawards.com/past-winners/2015-winners/2015-quarter-finalists/

There were a couple of people with two entries each on that list as well.

Matias Caruso, last years' Grand Prize winner
Janet Clarke
David Lambertson

Others I noticed:

Dena McKinnon
Rick Kinsella
Henry Christner
Rod Thompson
Tim Westland

If I missed someone, just add yourself.

I've read three of the entries and they were amazing! I hope you all move on to the semis!

I just didn't take Jeff for someone who enters competitions. I hope he does well and there better not be any formatting errors!!

Realised the script I sent in was all fucked up as well, so no chance I'll progress....but bit of fun.

Yes, Congrats to all who advanced, and to those who didn't advance, remember, it's all a matter of opinion.

I decided to enter on that earlybird special, after reading a bunch of posts on another thread, and thought, what the fuck...why not?

I also entered "No Meat" and "Of Cannibals and Cabins" in the short section, but for some odd reason, they didn't move forward.

Good luck to all.  Let's keep the SS ship floating forward with another winner this year.

PS - Bert, please send  1, any, all of those girls my way.  Any babe that enjoys Jagie, while sitting in a bathtub with other babes, is exactly my kind of gal.

Jeff entered Unforgettable and Rick entered Bone Deep. Both made the QFs.

Both of those were originally written for a 7WC. The 7WC also gave me two produced features! I think Khamanna has interest in one of hers as well. Maybe we should do another 7WC soon? The last one was a year ago.

I like that idea Pia... That is where Quarantine Island got its start as did others that are in the works for me. It forces me to keep a goal/schedule and these days working full time it's harder to feel like writing.

Yeah, I've never done a 7WC. I'd throw my hat into the ring, but it's quite a task isn't it?

Dena, sorry, I forgot!!! You had Dead Cell too, from a 7WC as well!

See, they work!

Yes, but that's the point. A lot of times, as a writer for hire, you only get a couple or three weeks to  write a first draft. Sure, most of these scripts are rough early drafts, but once you receive a lot of feedback, you know where to take the rewrites.

It's both harder, and easier, than trying to write one in your own time.

Time can get really pressing, but it also gives you a drive and motivation that you don't always have at your own speed.

I can say categorically it will improve you as a writer.

If I can do it, you can do it. I am a very slow writer, usually.

Congrats Scar, eldave, and Mr. Z. Rooting for all of you, although probably with a little more bias towards eldave's The Last Stateman. Enjoyed reading it a fair amount some time ago. Good luck!

Yeah...and commiserations to those that didn't make the cut.

Re-write submitted. It's a pretty polished script now, so whatever happens I can't complain.
