I hear Leatherface has passed away.  He grunts and wielding chainsaw antics still give me chills today.

Check out my scripts...if you want to, no pressure.

Sad year for horror.

Horror movie aren't really hot anymore. The latest Halloween and Friday the 13th installments keep getting delayed and/or cancelled. We're lucky to have gotten The Babadook, and (I haven't seen it yet), but I've heard good things about It Follows.

Recent horrors have all flopped, save for Goosebumps, of all horror movies. (My inner third grader wants to see that! I loved those books and the TV series.)

And then we start losing some big names in the genre:

Dick Smith
Betsy Palmer
Christopher Lee
Wes Craven
And now Gunnar

I shudder to think who's next. How many years to the likes of Carpenter and Romero have left on them?

RIP indeed.

I wouldn't say horror movies are not hot anymore, on the contrary, horror films are thriving.
Big name titles are not getting the all-clear because other horror films are being more creative, forcing the bigger names to backtrack from the tried and tested formula that used to work year in, year out.

Audiences are just not gonna buy into Myers, Freddy and Jason at the moment.
