None more deserving and talented than Dave. He doesn't write my kind of story, but I have a huge respect for his ability. In certain respects, I'm also a little envious of his talent. I can say the same for a few writers that grace these boards. You probably know who you are already - you vain bastards.

I know a couple of excellent writers who made it to the semis and they didn't make it to the finals. Getting to the finals is HUGE Dave, well done - deservedly so!

Brilliant concept. Love the irony. I'm on page 20 and really like our main character and where this is going.

Out of curiosity, did you prepay for reader notes? I liked how Nicholl has them available whether you wanted them or not, but Page makes you pony up to have someone reread your script if you didn't prepay. To me that automatically tells the reader that they don't have to leave notes because so and so is a cheap bastard. Like me.

These are all excuses for why my crappy writing didn't advance. It's just for future reference.

Hope this opens some doors for ya. Rom-coms have been pretty seldom seen these days unless you have a "Trainwreck" anti hero to anchor them.

Enjoy the final, Dave

If I recall they do an automated awards version with the chosen scripts coming out an envelope. Whilst mine didn't pop out it was at least something to watch

Mind you if you do a Matias and win the whole damn thing, it is the last one to appear so probably have lost heart by then!!

When are the results?

They are on October 15th.

I do remember those damn envelopes. "The Last Statesman" was a finalist last year. It was not fun to find the envelope empty
